“the mix is the culmination of about two years of rethinking my approach to djing, sparked by some frustration with myself and broader trends in the scene. it was triggered by an experience djing after beatrice m in brno at the start of 2024. beatrice is such a singular artist, and also an incredibly good person, and that set made a huge impact on me. i’d arrived at the club early and wow, the energy was just different. each track was so well selected and each one felt like a perfect evolution of the one before it. rather than constantly trying to force banger after banger, their mix prioritised creating a vibe and sustaining it. i had a fun time playing that night but i wasn’t happy with the set.
it helped me to realise how captive we are to the attention economy and how it was informing how i selected tunes. as djs there’s this perception that you need to play to ever shrinking attention spans, there’s this sense you need to shout the loudest to cut through the noise. the real breakthrough came when i noticed how often the attention economy had crept into them. a dj has a responsibility to reject those forces that are determining much of the outside reality and create a space where people can escape the pressures and controls of the outside world.
which brings me to this mix, my goal was to create something that doesn’t compete for attention, but instead builds and sustains a vibe, rewarding the listener in proportion to how much they let themselves sink into it.”

Intercept welcomes London-based producer RIZLA OPS with Two to Two, a percussive, groove-heavy statement that warps bass music into new shapes. Known for his off-kilter club sound, RIZLA OPS blends hardgroove, drill, dubstep, and skewed techno into rhythmic experiments designed to move both body and mind. His music is rooted in the psychoacoustic connection between sound pressure and human response, turning the dancefloor into a site of sensory immersion.
Written after returning to the UK from Berlin, Two to Two carries the push-pull of change, missing a past community while finding inspiration in new surroundings. The three tracks balance reflection and forward momentum: [Bracket] grinds and swerves through tightly wound percussion; Radar pulses with shifting textures and spatial tension; the title track loops into hypnotic symmetry, its mirrored structure echoing themes of temporal dissonance. Together they distil RIZLA OPS’ curiosity, restlessness, and rhythmic precision into a debut that feels both immediate and uncharted
