10 works — 5 units of Abacus (Convex) and 5 units of Abacus (Concave) — by Kristaps Ancāns and Pauls Rietumshave been acquired by the Latvian National Museum of Art.
The works enter the museum’s Contemporary Art Collection, overseen by Art Museum ARSENĀLS.
Originally created and first exhibited for the Art Station Dubulti 10-year anniversary exhibition Literally a Very Small Celebration, curated by Inga Šteimane, the Abacus units explored collaboration across different fields, people, industries and institutions.
The works were later shown in London at domobaal as part of Kristaps Ancāns’ solo exhibition “When The Wind Blows.”
