WE ARE WATER / SOMOS AGUA
Museo Historia Natural y Cultura Ambiental (@mhnca)
Thank you to everyone involved!
We Are Water was an immersive audiovisual installation that combined the elements of water and sound to reveal that one of the universe’s main characteristics is its vibrational. This notion was first exposed in Eastern philosophy and later confirmed by 20th-century quantum physicists when they realized that all physical matter is composed of molecules jiggling in space.
Even objects that appear to be static are, in fact, vibrating, oscillating, and resonating at various frequencies. Ultimately, all matter is just vibrations of various underlying fields. As such, at every scale, all of nature vibrates.
We Are Water seeks to spark the viewer’s curiosity to connect consciously with the most essential element on the planet. The one that allows life to take place on Earth. And realize that Earth is one living organism assembled by natural elements and millions of living organisms, including us.
By realizing the interconnectivity of all things from a perspective where ecology is the center, we will be able to recognize our responsibility to Nature, to our planet, and to the whole.

This studio and residence marks a turning point in my practice. Working with natural pigments, earth, mineral, oxide and plants. I began understanding colour not as a choice but as a consequence of place.
Sri Lanka changed how I work. The materials demanded a different kind of attention. Slower. More deliberate. The uncontrollable nature is the reward.
This is where the work became honest.

It’s been a while since I last posted.
Today I moved into my new studio, still very much a work in progress, but I’m excited to start sharing the journey as it evolves.
This is more than just a studio. It’s a maker space, an extension of the @sun.contemporary philosophy, built to incubate and support artistic development, both locally and through invited artists in residence.

A look back at my last public mural.
Looking forward to creating another when the time is right, with meaningful community engagement.
Houston, Texas 2022
This mural was created in response to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14 and the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development led by UNESCO, an initiative focused on restoring ocean health and advancing solutions that reconnect people with the ocean.
Murals, for me, are a way to bring art into shared public spaces, creating moments of reflection, connection, and awareness around the issues that shape our world.

Another public artwork from 10 years ago revisited as we enter the Year of the Horse,
continuing my exploration of large horses occupying the urban landscape.
This mural remains especially special to me.
EVERY RIVER FLOWS TO THE SEA
КОЖНА РІКА ВПАДАЄ В МОРЕ
AND THE WAVES OF THE SEA WILL SOFTEN THE STONE
І ХВИЛІ МОРЯ ТОЧАТЬ КАМІНЬ
Kyiv, Ukraine, 2016
Inspired by a story attributed to Gautama Buddha — if a stick falls into a river, the current carries it toward the endless ocean. Nature flows in one direction.
The water references the Dnipro River flowing through Ukraine to the Black Sea. The rider was removed from the monument of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, turning the horse south, a gesture about change, impermanence, and the illusion of control.
A subtle homage to Kazimir Malevich and his Black Square — the “zero point” from which everything begins.
Today this mural holds even more meaning
