The High Seas Treaty enters into force today, the most significant global environmental agreement since the 2015 Paris Climate Accord. To mark the occasion, @greenpeace engaged indigenous peoples, activists, local communities and artists across 13 countries to craft Ocean inspired public art, @richtpaint was invited to create the UK contribution, which we coordinated in St Leonards, East Sussex.
“The focus is a message in a bottle, an act of desperation and devotion; thrown into the sea in the hope of finding help before it’s too late. Here, the bottle has sunk and is filling with water. Often, news about the environment is paired with the language of “last chance”, in this case; that last chance is being held up by red tape.”
This is about more than just the ocean, it’s about systems of power: what is protected, what is exploited, and what is ultimately sacrificed”

Good Grief, Acrylic on Shaped Canvas 150cm x 100cm, 2022
This piece is currently @urbannation_berlin in Berlin for "TALKING...& other Banana Skins", a group exhibition bringing together over 60 artists
Good Grief is an oxymoron and the first in a new series of paintings.
Flowers do a lot of heavy lifting symbolically and have been a feature in my work for a long time.
What is good grief? Does it exist? How is personal grief comparable to the collective grief that is the 24 hr news cycle.
Don’t tie yourself in a knot

“Over We Go”
New piece in Bristol to celebrate the opening of ‘The Dame’.
Situated opposite Dame Emily Smithe Park….(The Deaner)
A place that means a lot, to a lot of people in the city, myself included.
In 2002 I turned up at the deaner with @45rpmwhat to paint. Over the course of the next few years we built our styles there and met so many friends.
Plenty of people in the city cut their teeth painting the deaner….or lost their teeth skating it.
@thedamebar @campusskateboarding
The Dame opens 24/08/23

I’m done talking to adults. I’m only talking to kids now.
Original piece painted live for Open House @rocksoliddist at @shredenhams
The following weekend @shabbadjs event, the kids helped me finish it. Huge thanks to @colourful_minds_kids and @ailishbeadle for facilitating the fun and encouraging everyone to get involved.
The lines were there, whether anyone stayed within them was up to them.
The wall grew and became something else. A new artwork, a confidence building exercise, a diary, a fun game and a space for grown ups to remember how to be kids.
Excited to do more of these. For the last few years I have been working with @charlotte_pyatt to bring kids creativity to the forefront within projects. It’s always the right choice.

The latest @clubhousecurates intervention @shredenhams sees an immersive installation from @tomhaaam launching Bristol’s newest live music venue @thebackroomshredz
“Falling up” is a paradoxical phrase describing unexpected success, rapid improvement, or positive outcomes arising from initial failures or setbacks. It’s the idea that you can feel lost or at a dead end, but eventually realising through that process you arrive somewhere better and more fulfilled.
There lies community with strangers being in the same place for the same reasons. It binds us together. People connecting whilst in mid-surf, colliding whilst seeing each other and experiencing the same emotions without speaking a word.
Tom Ham is a documentary and portrait photographer, with a focus on music culture.

2025 has been a year of massive change.
New spaces, new challenges and new roles.
Since @shredenhams opened its doors in March, I’ve been curating the space as @clubhousecurates
hosting @mudwig @williamjchild @upperhandart @secretwalls@mr_finbar and @obeygiant
Hosted the best Halloween party “Deadenhams”
Alongside working on an architectural project in the city and my personal work in the studio.
A new studio is a hell of a thing. All the love @rexmartin @hanna.sderholm @jofustablet
Was so pleased to be asked by @williamjchild and his brilliant team of creatives to contribute for an amazing@kneecap32 project
Plus I got to go do the excellent podcast @ohgatekeeper 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for keeping the ship steady @charlotte_pyatt
Choppy waters and calm 🌊🌊🌊

@keownphoto came to visit the studio. It can be a bit daunting when a photographer steps into your space, but it felt important for this moment. It doesn’t hurt that he’s an amazing photohgrapher and that I love his shots.
Some spaces, cities, and situations unlock you, and this studio has been that for me. It’s given me room, literally and metaphorically, to expand, experiment, and look at problems as challenges not obstacles.
Getting lost is part of the work, a sign that I’m pushing into new territory rather than circling the familiar. Understanding that my creativity isn’t just an aesthetic, butthe things learnt and discovered whilst getting there. After a self-imposed break, colour is returning, and I’m excited to see where it leads.

The latest Clubhouse intervention @shredenhams sees Shepard Fairey / @obeygiant takeover
Following Shepards recentUK visit, the OBEY team travelled to Bristol to visit our once derelict space now turned community skatepark @campusskateboarding
Marking the first new paste-ups outside of London since the Triple Trouble show with @damienhirst and @invaderwashere , expect a feature wall layered in Fairey’s signature collage style, with hidden easter eggs throughout the space, plus a few new Invader posters making their debut.
Together, the works continue to explore how creativity and community can reimagine and revive forgotten architecture.
