I asked him how did he find his next play after sports ended? This is what he told me,

“I began playing organized basketball at the age of four in Italy, where my father was stationed. Throughout my youth, I also played baseball and began training in martial arts at the age of five. I excelled in sprinting, advancing to the California State Championships and later competing in college. I went on to play two years of Division II football as a walk-on.

Sports have always been my refuge in a chaotic world—they were my psychologist. Through athletics, I developed discipline, focus, and resilience. For many years, I believed I would become an Olympic sprinter, until I had the opportunity to train alongside one and gained perspective on the level required.

As I entered the “real world,” I realized the skills developed through training were transferable far beyond sports. At 21, I became a Store Director for a Fortune 500 grocery company. I later founded my own personal training business and became a best-selling co-author in motivation.

After pivoting from that world—following a conversation with God—I committed fully to my art and became an award-winning filmmaker. Discipline has always been the foundation of my journey, ensuring I consistently put in the time required to pursue greatness.

During summers, I trained independently to gain an edge over the competition. In my professional life, I’ve applied the same mindset—investing countless hours in myself and my craft in pursuit of excellence. Sports remain one of the greatest teachers, offering powerful, transferable lessons for success in life.“
