THE STAR XVII ✶︱
“You had the power all along my dear” ~ Glinda the Good Witch
“The 17th Major Arcana card embodies the unique and independent energy of Aquarius. Like a fairy godmother granting us a wish, she gives permission to dance to our own drumbeat and reminds us we are the main character in our life story. The Star is a beacon of hope and a confirmation that we are on the right path- it is the Tarot’s big YES in all caps. It indicates we are entering a time of inspiration and renewal and assures us that even if we cannot see the way ahead yet, we can trust our higher consciousness to be our guide.
To understand The Star, we must also discuss its predecessor, The Tower. Like the tornado in The Wizard of Oz, The Tower is a powerful unexpected force that rips up our foundations. It hurls us untethered through uncertainty and chaos and then abruptly drops us. When the clouds clear we may find that we are in a land far far away, or realize our former fortresses of stability are broken or no longer inhabitable.
When the Star card appears, it’s a sign that we survived the tumultuous tumble and are emerging from the rubble. It is the part of the journey when we’ve sifted through doubt and fear to rediscover our power and self-worth and truly embody it. Although it may be subtle at first, once we embrace our authenticity and allow ourselves to be vulnerable, everything around us starts to shift.
The Star is often depicted as naked because she has nothing to hide. Wisdom’s starlight shines through her scars. She has shed the barriers that kept her life in black and white and begins a new journey, equipped with the emotional and spiritual depth to thrive in technicolor.” -words by @redwitchtarot

MARS ♂enters LIBRA ♎︎ by @redwitchtarot:
“Mars, our champion of ambition, passion, and drive, moves into the equality-loving, artsy, and relationship-oriented sign of Libra from September 14th until October 20th.
As the ruler of the seventh house of partnerships and romance, Libra is all about our closest one on one interactions. Mars is Mr. Energy, Ego, and Individuality- it’s his way or the highway. When he thrusts his energy into the relationships where we have to practice the most cooperation, (lovers, co-workers, bosses, housemates) he can create a bit of tension. If not handled consciously, that tension could be released in some fiery, God of War-like outbursts... but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
No, this is not a free pass to key your boss’s Lambo, and scream “FREEDOM” whilst giving them the finger. Don’t smack your lover in the forehead with a pan. “Mars was transiting Libra” will not suffice as a proper legal defense. And while such daydreams may seem delicious during this transit, what they are telling you is that it’s time to put some energy into balancing the scales. Inequities in relationships will be resolved. If you’re the giver, quietly offering your support and expecting nothing in return, Mars will give you the gumption to demand your due. If you’re the taker, well, don’t be surprised when your sweet loved one is suddenly yelling that you’re an unappreciative brute. It’s not “out of nowhere”-it’s Mars in Libra.
Mars is said to be at his “detriment” in Libra. He is much more comfortable leading a group of savages than he is at high-tea. But being out of his comfort zone doesn’t mean that Mars will stop helping us get things done. It just means that our modus operandi will need adjustment to make progress in this phase.
During this transit people born with natal Mars in Libra will experience their “Mars return” meaning their efforts will more easily pay off and they can gain clarity on what is working for them and what is wasting their time. For Mars/Libra Natals, their cooperative way of doing things will be “en vogue”. Doors open with less effort, due to their “je ne sais quoi”. Art by: @astroccult

The High Priestess II ☪︎︱
“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift.” ∼Albert Einstein
“She has secrets. You’ll never know them unless she wants you to. Hidden knowledge and calm reserve are her superpowers. You must earn her trust, for the uninitiated will not be granted admission. In the Major Arcana, the High Priestess is the only woman who sits upon a sacred throne. She represents the divine feminine, eroticism, intuitive wisdom, and mystery.
Connected to the astrological symbol of Cancer, she shares The Crab's ability to move between worlds. She wields equally the land's qualities of concrete science and common sense, and the water's secrecy, femininity, moon magic, and intuition. Have you ever tried to put a person with a Cancer sun sign on the spot about something? The Crab is a professional side-stepper. Likewise, The High Priestess has an infallible poker face, and you will never see her cards until she’s ready to reveal them.
When the High Priestess appears in a reading, she calls you to heed your intuition, over logic. Celebrate your feminine side. Listen, observe and utilize the power of intrigue. Subconscious forces are at play, or there is important information that has yet to be revealed. Inaction, pause, and reflection are underrated forms of operation, yet still highly effective maneuvers.
The High Priestess does not charge, guns blazing, to accomplish a goal. Like the moon, her power is quiet but formidable. She draws what she wants to her by recognizing opportunities. Instead of dominating and controlling the narrative, she gently nudges the tide to pull in what she desires.“ -words by me- art by @astroccult

Jupiter ♃ enters Pisces ♓︎ On 5.13.21 by @redwitchtarot:
“On May 13th, Jupiter briefly shifts out of Aquarius and enters Pisces for the first time since 2010. Jolly Jupiter feels right at home in the sign of the fish since before Neptune was discovered, he was Pisces’ original ruling planet.
…
Jupiter is all about expansion, fun, and abundance, while Pisces is compassionate, empathetic, and creative. Pisces will do anything to help someone in need, while Jupiter likes to refill the champagne glasses into the night to keep the party going. When Jupiter lends his expansive bubbliness to Pisces’ artistic and mystical sign, we feel increased feelings of compassion, joy, and hope. This is a time of healing, spirituality, and creativity. Amplified inspiration and compassion beget an extraordinary phase for artistry, spiritual practice, and romance.
There is an element of surrealism to the dreamy mist that Jupiter in Pisces emits, softening our senses. Our thinking becomes nonlinear, our fantasies more colorful, and our appreciation of nature is expanded. It encourages us to develop our intuition by inviting us on a walk through the clouds. But if we are not spiritually grounded, we could get lost in the fog.
Represented by two fish, one swimming upstream and the other swimming downstream, the Pisces dichotomy can be defined by “Meditate or Medicate.” Increased sensitivity and psychic insight may make us feel “thin-skinned” and exaggerate the coping mechanisms and undesirable habits we use to escape.
…
The key to working with the energy of Jupiter in Pisces is to allow for the fact that it’s not particularly action-oriented or discerning. Rose-colored glasses are splendid for helping us have confidence in ourselves and seeing the best in each other and the beauty of the world. However, we may have more difficulty navigating left-brained activities, focusing on nitty-gritty details, and initiating projects. Forget about your taxes and spreadsheets. The music is being reborn: The children play, the lovers love, and the poets dream.”

Full M◯◯N in LIBRA ♎︎ by @redwitchtarot:
“Our first full moon of Spring and Aries season packs an astrological wallop. Full moons illuminate the sky- but also suppressed emotions, previously hidden information, and a path forward where you were once stumbling around in the dark. Heightened emotions can cause our buried feelings to burst into the open, just like the spring seedlings burst from the ground to greet the Sun. We all tend to get an extra dose of intensity around the time of the full moon.
This Libra full moon carries several important distinctions. It’s a Super Moon, opposite the triple conjunction of Sun, Venus, and Chiron in the 8th degree of Aries. If that sounded like lunacy, don’t worry, I’ll explain. Buckle up; there’s a lot to unpack here.
It’s a Big One: This is a “super moon,” meaning it is closest to Earth in its orbit, and we will see a giant Luna in the sky. The proximity doubles the moon’s influence on the Earth’s tides making the high tide unusually high and low tide abnormally low. Since the moon rules the tides of our emotions- I’m sure you can see the metaphor here. Feelings will be intense, but this also means we have more juice to make magic and bring forth our intentions.
In the sign of Libra: A Libra full moon is all about beauty and fairness. She humbly suggests that you beautify the parts of your life that have been overlooked. She then slyly directs her light to the area of your life that is imbalanced. While Aries is about “Me,” Libra is about “We,” so expect this moon to focus on the people you share your life with most closely. Libra abhors injustice and won’t rest until the proverbial scales are even.”

The DEVIL XV
"Taste the whip, in love not given lightly. Taste the whip, now bleed for me". ~ The Velvet Underground.
What is it that you desire? How far will you go to get it?
The Devil card should not strike fear. Instead, think of the "Devil's fork" as a fork in the road. It indicates that it's time to consult your moral compass and confront the dark underbelly of your ego. It's possible that your "shadow" is in the driver's seat or that someone around you is not acting in your best interests.
This card has many themes: Corruption, jealously, addiction, ruthlessness, temptation, materialism, and domination, to name a few. But mainly, the Devil embodies disrespect.
Whether it's disrespect of oneself, the people around you, or the environment, the appearance of this card urges you to take a look in the mirror and examine your choices. The Devil will promise you all that you covet, but at what price? Is all that glitter really gold?
Scamp and reveler of naughty behavior, @realtuckermax once said: "The Devil doesn't come dressed in a red cape and pointy horns. The Devil comes as everything you ever wished for".
This card urges you to evaluate the dichotomy of love vs. codependency, ambition vs. greed, compromise vs. self-subjugation, gratification vs. hedonism, and dedication vs. obsession.
Seductive, stylish, and sly, a quick dance with the Devil can be an utterly exhilarating time. But a few moves in, you may find you're twisted into a pretzel and unable to sashay away.
When you see the Devil card, you must ask yourself: To whom or what are you enslaved?

TEMPERANCE XIV:
"The waiting is the hardest part" - Tom Petty.
“Temperance is the in-between. As the Querent steps into a new world, they are in a state of uncertainty and unknowingness. Associated with the Sign of Sagittarius, the Zodiac's adventurer, a word synonymous with "patience" may seem an unlikely pairing.
Imagine a trapeze artist letting go of one bar and momentarily flying unsupported while reaching for the next rung. Imagine a cliff diver stepping off the rocks and hurling through the air before they land in the water. Or the moments of silence between an artist unveiling his work and the viewer expressing their opinion. The Temperance card embodies the time of ambiguity and uncertainty as you move between worlds. Sagittarians' bravery is required- or will be acquired- in the process.
Temperance represents the feeling of uncertainty as we adapt to a new reality knowing we cannot go back to our old and familiar state. It could be a new home, job, relationship, or educational pursuit. The changes could be self directed, as you chose to walk the path of a new journey. Or from circumstance, as you experience unexpected loss. The modern use of the word Temperance is associated with abstinence and moderation. The original meaning conveyed self-restraint, compassion, and charity.
In the Tarot, Temperance embodies themes of plasticity, ambiguitiy and gentleness. We must tread softly while we figure out the nuances of a foreign environment. We must have patience with ourselves while we learn a new skill or language. We must have compassion for ourselves while we heal from what we have lost or have given up.
Temperance, the angel between worlds, is the guardian who protects and preserves us while we are in the vulnerable place of shedding our old skin. Temperance reminds us to be forgiving of ourselves while we experience these growing pains: To pause and give deference to the cyclical ending and beginning of love, sadness, grief, anger and reconciliation. And that time moves differently- depending on which phase you are currently experiencing.” -words by @redwitchtarot, art by @astroccult

Jupiter ♃ enters Aquarius ♒︎ on 12/19/20 at 5:07am PST by @redwitchtarot:
“At some point in our lives, most of us have gone through a bit of an awkward phase. Ever since Jupiter moved into Saturn's territory of Capricorn, he hasn't been quite himself. In traditional astrology, Jupiter is said to be "in his fall" in Capricorn, which means that our planet of good fortune has been having a tough year. When luck itself is on the fritz, we can expect things to go haywire.
When a planet visits a sign, that sign's ruling planet dictates how they get to doll out their blessings and lessons. As Capricorn's ruler, Saturn has been micro-managing Jupiter for most of 2020. Jupiter is about happiness, good luck, and expansion.Capricorns themes of responsibility, self-control, and discipline run counter to Jupiters' naturally gregarious, optimistic, and philanthropic nature. It's a bit like the theater club captain was sent to military school, and his bunkmate is his drill sergeant.
Jupiter's move into airy, futuristic, and humanitarian Aquarius is a sigh of relief for the Great Benefic. Uranus is the natural ruler of Aquarius, and Jupiter and Uranus are much more compatible housemates. We still have one more big direct conjunction for Saturn and Jupiter on December 21, but Jupiter is in a more supportive territory this time. Thus, his buoyant optimism and benefic qualities are less muted than they were in previous Jupiter/Saturn conjuncts this year.
Aquarius values fairness, liberty, and originality. Unconventional and rebellious by nature, this is the sign of progress and futuristic thinking. Aquarius has little tolerance for being restricted by tradition and challenges the status quo to reform, upgrade, or overthrow outdated ideas and systems. People often accuse Aquarian natives of being "aloof." However, one could argue that they simply have a healthy relationship with detachment, which allows them to leave behind that which is not working, without sentimentality, in favor of positive changes.” Entire article will be available in AASB - WINTER on 12/21!

DEATH ◯︱
"I'm not afraid of death because I don't believe in it. It's just getting out of one car and into another." ~ John Lennon
The Querent walks through a lifeless desert with a starless sky toward a looking glass of unknown wonders. Surrounded by the eternal Ouroboros, the looking glass offers a renewal of life, light, and the magic of new opportunity. He hesitates as he ponders the strange portal before him and the trepidation of a journey into the unknown.
You're going to die. Eventually, we all are, but the death card's appearance in your spread doesn't predict it is happening anytime soon. Instead, the tarot card of Death signifies that significant change is on the horizon. Related to the planet Pluto, the lord of the underworld, Death represents the mystical powers of both the Full Moon and New Moon as we fully close the door on one chapter of our lives and begin a new endeavor. It is the power of letting go of that which no longer offers sustenance and life. We must abandon outdated beliefs, relationships, and activities that steal the stars from our sky so we can walk into the light and be renewed.
As the thirteenth card in the spread, Death is related to the deeply mystical and investigative sign of Scorpio. The portal ahead of us could be a magnifying glass, calling us to research the hidden forces under the surface. It can represent the need to inspect a situation without our ego's filter to achieve a moment of clarity. Death, like change, is inevitable. We can embrace it or dig our heels in, but the cycle moves on, renewing, changing, and transforming. ︱words by @redwitchtarot,
art by @astroccult

Sagittarians know how to party. Think of the last person who convinced you to trespass for the view, now check their birth chart. They were either a Sag or have Sag rising. Their buoyant optimism lights up every room, and they can make the most mundane tasks seem like a rollicking good time. Often underestimated, they genuinely believe in the inherent goodness of everyone they meet- this can make them appear naive, but they certainly are not. They simply refuse to let the darkness of the world tarnish their sparkle.
Philosophical and kind, they want what’s best for everyone. These people are big thinkers who have their eye on the long game. Sure, they can lack tact. If you honestly want to know if your new outfit resembles your grandmother’s wallpaper or if your new lover is a jerk, ask your Sagittarius friend. They will dish it to you straight. If you want sugar coating, go ask a Libra.Sagittarians are incapable of telling a “white lie” to spare your feelings, especially against your best interests.
Their adventurous hearts and capable minds lead them into many different adventures and careers throughout their lives. They scoff at the concept of “you can’t have it all” and may have all four hooves deeply planted into entirely separate interests at one time. Just don’t ask them to compromise their goals or their beliefs. When the dust clears, you’ll see they have swiftly galloped away from your limiting expectations.
There is a little bit of “Willy Wonka” in every Saggy: They are the music makers and the dreamers of dreams.

THIS MOON IN SCORPIO IS MEGA //
New Moons begin a new chapter. Scorpio is deeply emotional, transformative, and spiritual. As a water sign, it draws extra magnetism and magic to attract and manifest our future.
This Moon is a BIG one. Although the sky will appear dark, the moon is orbiting very close to the earth, intensifying its power. We just experienced Jupiter and Pluto’s last direct conjunction in Capricorn two days ago, an aspect we won’t see for another 15 years. The New Moon is making a happy aspect to these two powerhouse planets, which means lots of change, and although they may seem intense, they are for the better in the long run.
Scorpio energy is all about embracing our dark and twisty side. Repressed emotions come to the surface, secrets get spilled, and our pesky inner demons demand our full attention. It calls us to focus not on what we think we should want but on what makes us tick. This Scorpio New Moon’s transformative power integrates our darkness and light and spins our perceived detriments into gold.
This New Moon, not New Year’s Eve, is the astrologically most valuable time to reflect on where you are currently and set intentions for where you want to go in the new year. As we are nearing the end of what has been a rollercoaster of events in 2020, the Scorpio X-ray vision permits us to see who we are, who we want to be, and how we can tap into our power to make our lives more fulfilling.
Scorpio, Taurus, and Aquarius will feel the effects of this powerful moon the most personally! Check the slides to see what the moon has in store for your sign.

More on the Saturn/Jupiter/Pluto Deathstar ☆ by @redwitchtarot:
“Saturn, Jupiter, and Pluto are all somewhere in our personal charts and they are constricting, expanding, and transforming so we can become stronger, truer, less compromised versions of ourselves. My friend who has this aspect in the 10th house of work, had to close their existing business, but is now thriving by doing her hobby for a living. A client who has this in her 4th house of residence, dreamed of moving across the country, but was apprehensive about rebuilding a business to do it. This aspect gave her the push. A consummate bachelorette who has this transit through her 7th house of relationships, just moved in with a partner for the first time and they are talking about getting married. So it’s not all doom and gloom, just a shake up. The more flexible we become, the less likely we are to break.
These planets move slowly, and we finally see the end of this alignment on January 31st, 2021. And although on a world-scale it seems like a planetary eve of destruction, the “Great Transformer Aspect” brings with it a lot of (albeit somewhat uncomfortable) opportunity. Conjunctions are beginnings, and the phoenix cannot rise without the fire.”
