One of the most powerful moments from last night’s Red Hook Art Project annual gala was witnessing State Senator Andrew Gounardes honor our incredible student honoree, Sashia, for the mural she and her sister created for his office in Albany.

This is the impact.
This is what happens when young people are given access, opportunity, mentorship, and space to create.

Our students are not only transforming canvases and walls they are transforming the way leaders see our communities, the way adults are moved by their work, and the way possibility is expanded for their futures.

These are the spaces, resources, and opportunities our young people deserve and what we are committed to continuing to build every day.

Red Hook Art Project remains rooted in one belief: when we invest in young artists, we invest in stronger, more connected communities.

Tonight was a beautiful reflection of what happens when art, community, and purpose come together under one roof.

Thank you to Ms. Tiffiney Davis and redhookartproject.org for allowing me to quietly capture a few moments from such a meaningful evening. From the artwork to the conversations to the people who came out in support, the energy in the room spoke for itself.

It was also amazing working alongside so many talented photographers, artists, and individuals who all played a part in making tonight a success. Seeing so many people come together in support of creativity and community was truly inspiring.

We are honored to feature a LIVE painting experience by artist Jason Naylor in collaboration with Bellwether [Ar]t during the evening. Guests will have the opportunity to witness creativity unfold in real time as Jason creates an original piece live at the gala filled with color, energy, love, and inspiration.

And the best part? The completed artwork will be auctioned live during the event, with proceeds supporting the mission and programming of the Red Hook Art Project⁠ and helping us continue empowering young artists in Brooklyn.
