The two of us rowdy raiders of the indie badlands are trucking through the great American expanse this summer to sprinkle magic sparks of song on your heads. The rookie Rain Recordings’ first ever tour (and live shows) led by the seasoned vet Hill View 73… you won’t want to miss it! We plan on making every show feel like witnessing a supernova of sound with our sloppy but earnest playing and haphazard slackerish charm. There will be exclusive merchandise (lots of it handmade with 10000000 hours of care) and great local acts that we’ll start to announce with more individual date posters! Writing the outro to Eye Games.

The process of Eye Games is odd compared to the other songs on Terns in Idle, which were written between autumn of 2022 and spring of 2023. It started with me finding an old unfinished verse from 2020 on the recordings on my phone. I made it into a song and recorded it at home, and it was originally supposed to be included on our debut Artificial Night, but we decided not to use it. The song was brought to light again during the writing process of the new album when Evren wrote new parts and added more instruments to the forgotten demo. This sparked an interest in the song and I sat down with it in spring of 2023 and continued writing on it. The lyrics weren’t finished until just a week before recording it at Drop of Sun, and while rehearsing the tracklist, me and Evren improvised an outro that finally finished the song. @eileecenteno filmed us in that process ❤️

Making this record was absolutely magical— an unforgettable time, seriously. The routine of the initial week at Drop of Sun, where we would dish out ideas with Lawson, Eilee, Nathan and Will in the early morning and down Modelos on the studio’s balcony deep into summer nights felt so natural and comfortable: we felt lived in that studio for just a week. And sinking into late night sessions with Tanner and Lawson (who both did way more than we deserved to make this record the best it could be), opening up and toying with the mixes and arrangements of these songs once again, brought so many moments of shock and satisfaction in the studio. Really, thank you, thank you to everyone that helped.

These songs started off as home-recorded demos passed between Sweden and North Carolina and grew into so, so much more. We’ve been dying to get this out there and the date is now right around the corner. Hope you all enjoy WOAH
