There isn’t a shortage of talent that falls in this category. You just don’t (want to) see us. Familiarise yourself with people who exist outside of the forms you are used to. Not being able to fully consider and acknowledge this because of your own ignorance, bias, misogynoir, and complete lack of care is not good enough.
Alongside my own experiences, the amount of conversations I’ve had with people within the music industry who understand and see this, but continue to be silent or behave in the same way is frustrating. Being and initiating the change that you know needs to take place or want to see is the bare minimum.
Although I know everyone is not for the “cause” because they think misogynoir is not alive and well, or that the intersections in identity doesn’t impact on the ability to access spaces or get bookings. However, I would urge you to be honest with yourself and engage in the countless ongoing conversations, experiences and stories shared… and do better.
Rave reparations are (over)due.

I have grieved, I have lived, I have moved through every difficult season and I have followed my intuition. The more I have accepted the seasons and reality of life, the less concerned I am with the overall year being summarised as “good”.
The period from winter solstice to spring equinox will be months of sowing seeds for all things new to grow again.
Whatever condition we are currently individually in, we are still here. That may not mean a lot when you’re going through it, but it means we get the chance to try every day.
Give thanks for constant movement. Especially when we it feels like we’re not moving ✨✨

To the people who swallow to dissolve your words. It’s important you speak. Yes, talking to yourself counts. Even writing to release the words you have stored for others. Recognise the tone and language of your own voice. Find comfort in it. You will soon discover the truth. From a very mad and powerful woman who feels (and talks to herself) a lot.
It is all happening in divine timing.

~Q Sermon is a radiant force in the Birmingham creative scene, she is an creative artist and DJ whose work pulses with emotion, color, and intention. Known for blending visual storytelling with soulful soundscapes, she approaches every medium with curiosity and heart.
Her DJ sets are more than performances. They’re immersive journeys shaped by her painter’s eye, her writer’s sensibility, and her deep commitment to authentic expression.
As an aspiring human being, she creates with a generosity that elevates everyone around her. Her energy reflects a life lived boldly, thoughtfully, and in constant pursuit of beauty in unexpected places.
Her Moksha debut marks a bittersweet milestone for the local creative scene as this is her final DJ set in the city she has called home.
After years of shaping local nights with her signature and divergent style, she steps into this last performance (as a local Brummie) with gratitude, passion, and the same creative fire that has defined her path. Her chapter here closes, as she begins the next in Manchester.
Experience Moksha on 28/11/25. Link for the tickets is in the bio ✨

When it came to transitions and figuring out if I accidentally ended the recording, it was all hands on deck!
Ram came through ready to delve into his extensive collection of music. Our selections became the backing track to an off air conversation about producers/artists we love, stories about when we heard tunes for the first time, and how it collaborates within the intersections of our identities.
Capturing parts of this conversation by picking up the mic would have been a good option, but exploring sounds whilst prioritising presence and laughter with minimal silence in between, meant we achieved the unset goal of refinement not being a necessity. 🔗 in HONEY WHINE bio

🔗 in HONEY WHINE bio

a legendary 0121 link up at @renae.mcr 🫂🌟
truly the highest honour to play alongside @soulqu3st & @qsermon_. from learning to DJ together in 2022 to sharing a lineup and letting spirit move.
six hours of heavenly vibrations from downtempo electronica all the way up to baile funk & gqom. beyond grateful for the energy we unlocked that night.
love always to the @renae.mcr staff/crew for the warm hospitality. we can’t wait to play again 🫶🏾
if music is medicine, then here’s a dose of what you missed ✨

The energy that was shared and received throughout the night and overall trip was beautiful! 5 hours alongside @soulqu3st & @okcandice felt like a fully immersive sensory journey ✨
We danced, we were joyful, we felt our legs ache, we played the tunes that moved us on a spiritual level, and we trusted that things will indeed flow 🌀
Grateful for the gift of music, frequencies, friendship and being delusional 💋
