January 2026 performance of Congo Beloved (Monologue)
Captured at the @kimpavitadkr #7 festival in Dakar, Senegal at @maison_de_laculture_doutaseck

Congo Beloved is a reimagining of Congo DRC’s late president Patrice Lumumba’s final letter to his wife before his life was taken. This reimagining acts as a continuation of his powerful leadership efforts for emancipation; This time centring female activists. The performance takes purpose and inspiration from Pauline Opango (Lumumba’s wife,) and contemporary activists@la_rdcienne_and Julienne Lusenge.

It’s exciting that there is another step to come with this creative journey. Next month myself and @domi_nica6 will further develop our performance piece (Rising Mirrors) in preparation for a performance @richmixlondon as part of @certainblacks Black Athena festival 2026! We hope to see you there.
