Moving through waves of color and emotions,
The great owl brought us a deep peaceful blue,
Revealing the aura rainbow of the lizard skin,
Embracing the granite in a dance of light.A projected art installation made onsite in the Mojave Desert.

Collecting rocks out in the Mojave desert. The camera lens as spectator, fixing a moment for sharing later. Spending some careful time in the edit. A final touch of care before sending images to the ether of the internet. Leave a comment if you know where this is.

Talking with spirits in the Mojave desert. This projection artwork created on location during dusk illuminates a granite boulder nodule resting on a larger granite slab with a slow pulsing iron core with a band of lichen absorbing it above. Streaks of iron race under the boulder towards the setting sun.

Breathing in there is the twinkle of pine leaves glittering in the leaving light. Breathing out there iscalmness after exploration.

I’ve been taking a long break from venturing into natural settings to commune creatively with. Felt rejuvenated returning to this series. For this I happened to be in Laguna Beach around sunset, after some quick reconnaissance I found this rock grouping along the beach that interested me. Instead of illuminating the rocks themselves I wanted to have this feeling of some mysterious force gathering inward towards them. The reflections from the sand and waves crashing the shore made for some fascinating moments. I mostly recorded video but I like how these photographs captured this fleeting intervention.

Portraits of Reseda for @1111.projects @resedaartwalk2025 last night was special. I created an animated picture frame adorned with mignonettes (Reseda’s namesake), california poppies, sage, lupine, morning glories and wild cucumber. I asked festival goers if they’d like to have their photos taken and framed within this magical projection. Many lovely moments sharing in the joy of this experience with the public!

Looking back to the beginning. One of the first full moon meet ups I organized on the LA River in the Taylor Yard back in 2015. This was before the giant arundo was removed. I’ve been changing recently but like a snake shedding its skin I welcome the uncertainty of the next ten years with excitement and resolve.

Here are a few stills from my project for Illuminate the Night @frogtownarts I wasn’t able to take many photos to document peoples portraits reflected in the LA river. If you were there and have any photos or video to share I would enjoy to see them.
