It is now time, when hot dogs become communion wafers once again. Padres opening day is this Thursday. So, on this episode of our Happy Half Hour podcast, we take the Bebemos Golden Hour tour to a pregame institution: Bub’s at the Ballpark.

There are some moments in life that are greater than others, and last night was certainly one of those!

I could not be more proud of the man that my son has become and the integrity he has exhibited getting there. Last night the SFC Eagles won the D2 CIF Championship Game for the first time in league history!!! It was the ultimate display of team unity and insane grit over the course of an undefeated 13-0 season with some of the most incredible athletes I’ve ever seen and hands-down the best coaching staff you could ever ask for, captained by the legendary @wallacejon ! And now, we have a shot to play for the State Title!!!

And yet more importantly than all of that, is the pride I had watching my son receive the CIF Sportsmanship Award!It wasn’t his dominant All-League play at Safety, but his class and his character, his humility and devotion to Jesus that got him here! They say winning isn’t everything, and to an extent I agree, but I’ve always said if you want to have the most fun, win, and that can be done with talent and effort; but if you want to make sure everyone has fun too, you can only do that with character! …and amazing parenting from @wedrinkbubbles

And then we started back up Pasta Sunday’s which is the best way to spend any day and brings me right back to Italy!

Truly so blessed. I’ll remember this weekend for the rest of my life.

For the next 30 days I am going on the Lion Diet (also known as an elimination diet) where I will only be eating meat from ruminants animals (cattle, lamb and bison to name a few), salt, water, and the occasional Tequila 😉

This personal experiment is being done with the hopes of healing some ailments that have plagued me for quite some time (inflammation, arthritis, psoriasis and migraines to name a few) and if by chance it helps me, then maybe can be an encouragement for others to try for themselves. And if not, well, I love eating meat so nothing lost!

I feel like overall I’m quite healthy in the way I live, eat, drink(ish), and exercise so though these nuisances bother me, they don’t control my life (yet). But as I’m getting older, and hopefully wiser, and constantly trying to learn and keep an open mind, I’ve found some outlandish claims about this Lion Diet that were backed by proven results. And as I went down the rabbit hole I discovered that even close friends of mine have been healed via this elimination diet.

So, well if you know me at all, I am curious, stubborn, and dedicated, and never back down from a challenge; especially if I give it to myself.

So challenge accepted! For the next 30 days I will only eat meat and will document my entire journey in hopes of it helping me and hopefully more to come. Again, my expectations are high, but I’m also very realistic that this may do nothing for me (except further clog my already fatty arteries). Either way, there is no reason not to try!

Has anyone else done this before? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
