A lot of you have asked where we got the name Prelim.

It comes from the word preliminary: “coming before an important action or event, especially introducing or preparing for it.”

That definition felt right. We never wanted to just serve coffee. We wanted to be a small part of your day before whatever comes next. The coffee before work. Before catching up with friends. Before a long day, a big meeting, an adventure, or life’s everyday moments.

We’re just happy to somehow be part of the moments before the moments 💙
