I’m beyond proud and grateful, and maybe even a little bit shocked, to announce that Popscene has just turned 30!

We first debuted on the SF nightlife scene back on 8/31/95 at the @sfcatclubofficial

Too many people to thank here, who were instrumental in the success of our indie party, but i’d like to acknowledge the following:

Co-founders Eric Shay, @omarpopscene and @jeremypopscene

Christopher White and @popphilo from @rickshawstop , our current home since 2010

@theselecterdjkirk from venue 330 Ritch Street, who brought us over from Cat Club and was our SOMA home from 1997-2010

Popscene staffers like Jenz, Miriam Anderson, @angeliners@tammiesoto2 and our incredible visualist Jill Reiter @newwavetothegrave

Former resident DJs like @nakoeth @shawnreynaldo and @milesthedj 🎧

Due to travel compilations, tonight’s sold out show with CULTURE WARS at Popscene/Rickshaw Stop is moving to this Sunday, 5/17, now at 7pm doors.

Your current tickets will be honored for the new Sunday date, but if for some reason you are now unable to make, a full refund will be provided.

Here is the official statement from the band:

San Francisco - The sold out show scheduled for tonight at Rickshaw Stop has been rescheduled to this Sunday May 17th. All tickets will remain valid. If you’re unable to make it, full refunds will be available at point of purchase (check email).

We’ve been at the airport since 6am to make it to you from Seattle, but @united had other plans and delayed our flight 12+ hours.

Thankfully, the venue was able to act quickly and help us reschedule. We’re very sorry this has happened, but we’re doing everything we can to still make the show happen.

Thanks so much for your understanding

See you Sunday ❤️‍🔥”
