Closing out Sunniside Nights 2026, local legends Cool For Cats return to Pop Recs with their much-loved all-vinyl disco.
From 10pm ‘til late, expect wall-to-wall classics and retro dancefloor favourites as they carry the festival through into the early hours.
Free entry, no tickets required — so if you’re out exploring Sunniside Nights already, stick around and dance out the last of the evening.

As part of Sunniside Nights 2026, Sunderland mural artist Frank Styles will be creating a brand-new artwork live across the evening in the Pop Recs courtyard.
Painting in the city since 2003, Frank is behind some of Sunderland’s most recognisable public artworks – from the High Street butterflies to the Raich Carter mural featured in Sunderland ’Til I Die. More recently, his work has appeared at Wembley Stadium for Taylor Swift, with another major commission lined up this summer.
Created live during the festival, the new mural draws together Sunderland’s shipbuilding history with the energy of live music and sound – blending photoreal detail, abstraction and visualised soundwaves into one evolving piece.
Come round the back of Pop Recs, into the courtyard and watch it take shape. See one of the city’s best-known artists at work in real time.
