The early morning sky reveals an ombré of rose-blushed pinks and corals, blending into dreamy hazy violet and light azure hues, through soft cotton-white clouds.
The crisp air bites, hot breath meeting cool to form its own temporary clouds closer to the ground. The fresh tingle that meets skin reminds senses exist and work. Fingertips begin to chill, going a bit numb, but I feel more connected with my core here than when wrapped inside a duvet under rooftop.
The ground has cracks and pits, but loamy, with blades of grass weaving through to cushion.
The birds are calling to each other: wren, chaffinch, blackbird, robin, great tits (and the occasional blue variety), with a song thrush singing loud and crossing over in different combinations to build patterns that ever shift. Like them, my voice is finding its rhythm more successfully as time moves, even if our differences are that sometimes I’m not quite so clear and bold in my broadcast.
The colours in the sky are layered, much like the rhythm of each individual day, or collections of 365 of them that form a year. From dark to light, dreamlike to drearier hue signals (and lots of in betweens) - it’s all been there at points. But seeing it all together as one brings the light and dreamlike points back into the mix again, where it’s otherwise easily forgotten within the chaos of getting to the next cycle. The trajectories will shift as does how the sky presents the dawn of each cycle.
34.
Fuck knows what it holds,
who the hell does with these things.
What there is, is the;
Goosebumps responding to the crisp cool air.
My skin has cracks and pits but is soft, like the ground cushioned grass
Voice, from consistent calls at the core that weave diverse polyrhythmic songs
The movement into different hues, like the myriad of colours in blended layered skies.
The 34th year begins.

It take guts to get involved in a new thing, in a new space, with new people.
It’s courageous to take the lead on something and speak up. No matter who that’s with, or what form it encompasses.
And it’s really brave to have hope. To join in. To take action.
💚 Every young person who Gloucestershire Youth Climate Group engaged with over the past 4 and a half years did those things. And that’s the ultimate mic drop 🎤
I’m incredibly proud of this project. Big ups to:
The 54 youth panel members, who Co-produced the project ethos & structure, youth voice consultation & reporting, and the workshops & trips program. They led climate action projects, (from community outreach and behaviour change campaigns, to festivals of youth action and more!) - making it happen. And acted as youth voice advocates in high level spaces, shaping discussions with multi-sector leaders and elected representatives in decision-making arenas.
The 150+ young people that attended regular workshops and trips, which developed understanding and took action for climate.
Colleagues I’ve worked with at @creative_sustainability_cic team
The 75+ organisations that directly collaborated on youth activity delivery, connecting and widening youth opportunities (from weekend nature camping residentials to tree planting)
The approx 3,600 Youth Voices in the county, who shared their insights through creative and engaging consultation on local climate policy and strategy.
Led by and for young changemakers.
I’m now on the lookout for my next project or role, where I can continue to support and collaborate with organisations and communities. With meaningful engagement of underrepresented voices that builds agency and sees the impactful changes happen. From a whole lot of supportive community building, and a lot of fun along the way.
If you know of opportunities that I can bring that energy and experience to, it would be great to have a chat
