2 weeks ago we looked at the 8/9 split in midfield today.

We looked at this 8/9 combination in Mayo , role definitions and how their half back / midfield combination cost them against London with too many players running ahead of the ball and getting caught out of position.
A question I’m asking ; do managers today pick midfielders like they’re all the same , or midfield combinations with a difference where 8 does X and 9 does Y?

I want to thank @mauricewalsh97sending this clip to me, really appreciative someone would take the time to do so.

It has rekindled great memories from minor to college to senior football and reminded me of a life I rarely think of.

Loved that state of high-concentration in-game, loved the reading and anticipating and thieving in the broken moments of the game, loved ramping up when opposition were resting, loved helping my team-mates. It was great timing to arrive at the same time as those fellas.
