RomRom are delighted to be back at Speakerbox, with 3 live bands and a whole host of DJ's spread across both rooms from the incredible Kribo Records, to local heroes Khana Bierbood & Saneh Wansook
Kribo Records is an independant record label founded by Haqim "Maggot" Isa in 2017.
Maggot is a Singapore-born producer and multi-instrumentalist who is currently based in Bali. He is the primary architect of the label's "Sounds of Lecak" aesthetic, characterized by a raw, "muddy" blend of 1960s and 70s soul, funk, surf, and psych-rock.
The term "Lecak" (Malay for wet or muddy) describes his signature production style since 2010—clean, jangly and twangy, cheap sounding old crappy guitars with spring reverb, and reminiscent of a vintage 70s film soundtrack featuring wah-wah pedals and Rhodes pianos.
His work is deeply influenced by his Bawaen & Malay parents and the Nusantara archipelago's cultural landscape, blending Western funk with regional styles like Thai Luk Thung, Molam, Arab Disco, and Afrobeat.
Maggot operates out of a studio filled with vintage gear located above a bean curd shop in Geylang, Singapore.He records and plays almost every instrument on every Kribo Records release, often using various pseudonyms like "Golden Mile Band" or "Wah Wah Thai".
A major compilation of his work (Sounds Of Lecak Vol. 1) released on vinyl through a collaboration with The Analog Vault and Guruguru Brain.He has worked with a diverse range of artists including Go Kurosawa (Kikagaku Moyo), The Stoned Revivals and Akid Amir. His work has also been featured in a number of international movies and major commercials.
Khana Bierbood (or คณะเบียร์บูด, translated as "Strange Brew" in Thai) is a Thai psychedelic rock and surf band formed in 2012 in the beachside town of Bangsaen. They are internationally renowned for blending 1960s and 1970s Western garage rock with traditional Thai genres like Luk Thung and Molam.
Support comes from Saneh Wansook - another group pf psychonauts hailing from Pattaya, bringing their own brand of madness with them.

We are delighted to announce our full line up for this coming Songkran, with another full take over of our favourite space, our homebase... the wonderful Warehouse
We are joined by some of the finest talent the country has to offer, with a focus on our local community, and the sounds of Thailand.
Fresh off the back of their 'Best Record of the year' award for 'Discoentelechy' we are delighted to be welcoming back Supergoods to the RomRom stage.
Supergoods were the first live act we booked for RomRom, when we crammed them in to the living room in our spiritual home of @12x12bkk It's been amazing to watch them grow, and we are thrilled to have them back.
We will going super late, and finishing the night off with the legendary Meltmode, who is making waves the world over with his unique Thai infused sound.
The ambient stage will be manned by Make Like a Tree, who is making his Thailand debut, and our family from the North, Kiengg & WWA.
Our market will be expanded, lasting longer, and led by some of the best selectors in the country - starting with the uber cool Tape Jam, playing his selection of Thai cassettes on those lovely big speakers.

On the Lights we have our friends @humanspectrum.collective and sound by the fantastic @headspace.th

The heat is rising in the city, and with it comes the end of our season. So we are celebrating in the only way we truly know... with a Songkran RomDingDong.
For our last dance we have invited along some of the biggest talents the city has to offer for a special 13 hour show like no other, with live acts and DJ's, and all your favourite vendors to keep you fed until the sun comes rises.
