We’re excited to share that the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS) has selected Carrville as sb Magazine’s cover story for their 60th anniversary issue! 
  
The Carrville Community Centre, Library, and District Park was designed as a focal point for a growing community. One of Canada’s first Net Zero Carbon community centres, the building combines rich public programming with a vibrant all-season park—bringing a diverse neighbourhood together ‘under one roof’, connecting to Vaughan’s natural heritage, and setting a new bar for sustainable design. Bringing together aquatics, gymnasium, and fitness programs, along with a branch library, a daycare, and flexible multi-purpose spaces across two levels, the building has quickly become a favourite place for the Carrville community.

Phase 2 continues the evolution of Weldon with new, specialized environments for focused study and emerging scholarship. A dedicated Silent Study Room and Graduate Commons offer quiet, advanced workspaces for students and researchers. The Digital Scholarship Centre introduces a Maker Space, Media Lab, and a Primary Source Active Learning Classroom, enabling hands‑on experimentation, interdisciplinary exploration, and digital production. Additional study zones, enhanced display areas, and further collections optimization build on the foundation of earlier improvements.
