•Goodyear Blimp•

Last week, my dream I’ve had since I was 5 years old of riding in the @goodyearblimp finally came true! Thanks to the @pacificairshow I went up in the Goodyear Blimp and it was absolutely incredible. It felt like I was on a boat, an airplane & a helicopter all combined into one. The best part was the “wing wave” where the blimp rocks back and forth and looks way scarier than it actually is. The ride was incredibly smooth and viewing was top tier. I still feel like I’m dreaming.

Again a huge shoutout to the @pacificairshow for always having me out and creating the best experiences. I cannot wait for the Airshow this year and you all should absolutely go!

•Long Beach•

Bioluminescent fireworms were spotted again last night in Long Beach and this was the most I’ve ever seen! Conditions were absolutely perfect at the Colorado Lagoon with hundreds of glowing worms.

It most likely will happen again tonight but no guarantees! They started glowing around 8:20pm and it lasted over an hour. I’ll be there again tonight! Location: Colorado Lagoon, Long Beach.

This video was taken under water with the @insta360 Ace Pro 2. The Pure video mode on this camera makes capturing low light footage an absolute breeze. I’m shocked with how well it performed considering how hard this is to capture.

•Long Beach•

Bioluminescent fireworms again last night in Long Beach! The Colorado Lagoon treated us once again with this amazing glowing display. I was even more excited when seeing moon jellyfish show up and being able to capture both in the same shot.

This most likely will occur again tonight but there’s no guarantee! Get there around 8:15pm and be patient! I’ll most likely be there so hopefully you can join.

The glowing green these fireworms produce resembles Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber I think perfectly. Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you.

•Killer Whales•

Yesterday I spent the day doing what I absolutely love most in life. I had the opportunity to hang out with Killer whales, which made my heart incredibly happy. I’ve loved Orcas since I was 2 years old and used to carry around a rubber whale everywhere I went. It’s a dream come true I get to be out here and do what I love.

Huge shoutout to @planetwhale for the last minute call to be there and @newportcoastaladventure for having us out.

This was filmed on my @sonyalpha a7SIII in 4K 120FPS.

•Moon Transit•

Last nights plane transit in front of the full moon! This was an @americanair A321 landing at LAX. Now all I need is a video from someone’s view inside the cabin. Shot alongside @markgirardeau who lined up the shot.

Filmed on my @sonyalpha a7SIII at 1200mm in 4K 120 FPS.

•Moon•

Our beautiful moon last night observed through the @celestronuniverse Edge HD 8 inch telescope, 2x Barlow & my @sonyalpha a7SIII.

Seeing conditions were fantastic with just a tad bit of atmospheric distortion. I took this at 120 frames per second to reduce the motion of that distortion and I love how it turned out. Have you ever seen the moon with this much detail?

The effective focal length of this video is whopping 4,064mm. Yes you read that correctly!

•Bioluminescent Fireworms•

Here is one more post on the Bioluminescent Fireworms we saw the other day in Long Beach! Believe it or not, it’s actually more challenging to capture photographs of them than video. With photos, you need to have a fast enough shutter speed to preserve the movement and have a camera sensitive enough to see in such a dim low light environment. I took all of these pictures on my @sonyalpha a7SIII at 51,200 ISO. With the help of some processing in Lightroom, the images came out great.

•Bioluminescent Fireworms•

Last night we had over a hundred people show up to see the Bioluminescent Fireworms! It was amazing to see everyone so excited to witness something rare. Thank you to everyone who came up to say hello! You all were very kind and it made the night even better.

There were less fireworms than the previous night so I’m not sure how much may be there tonight. It may be a worth a shot to try! They’re located in the Colorado Lagoon on the dock. Again please be respectful and pick up your trash!

•Bioluminescent Fireworms•

We found Bioluminescent Fireworms last night in Long Beach, CA!

This is now the second time I’ve had the pleasure of seeing this and it’s a spectacular sight. This mating ritual is caused by the female fireworm extruding the bioluminescence to signal to the male. It happens around 40 minutes after sunset and these little creatures were glowing for over 30 minutes!

This footage was taken at the Colorado Lagoon in Long Beach, California! The green glow started around 8pm so I’d recommend getting there a bit earlier than that. I will absolutely be back again tonight but cannot guarantee it’ll happen. Please make sure you respect the area and turn off your flash! I promise it doesn’t help. I hope to see you there!

This video was taken on my @sonyalpha a7SIII and shoutout to Amy Igarashi for spotting these the night prior.

•Bioluminescence•

There are some things in this world that are so magical, it’s hard to believe that they’re real. That’s how I feel about bioluminescence. I’ve been so lucky to have seen it hundreds of times now, but it always feels like I’m dreaming.

In a few months it’ll be a year since California has had good bio. I think part of the magic is not knowing when it’ll be around. Sometimes hanging around for a month and others only a day. I’m hoping we get some here soon. When was the last time you saw it?

This footage was taken back in 2023 with @getupandgokayaking on one of the best bio nights I’ve seen in Florida.
