"I am a Caribbean Canadian whose family hails from Antigua. The pictures provided are all of my cousin Moesha Baxter’s christening as a baby. She was baptized by Reverend Gray, like many Caribbean and black babies in Montreal. I believe it was done as a newborn in the 2000’s as was mine as well. Large part of my family was in attendance. This is such a special moment as amongst all the cousins and friends in the neighborhood that are close in age to us (20s) all have photos of ourselves being baptized by the same exact Reverend and church. In the photos are my grandmother, my aunts, cousins and godfather." - Submission by Parris Lo @parrislo @bassa_____bassa | Montreal, Canada

Family & Unity (1960-2005)
Been taking a lot of time to focus on researching, scanning, and properly archiving my families life story over the last 60 years through a photographic lens. Through this journey I’ve been able to discover so much about not only my family, but myself. As I sit here today with over 5000+ items of familial archive, I feel nothing but gratitude and love for my heritage as a Caribbean Canadian as well as the family who has blessed me with this heritage. And I’m happy to be able to share what the Caribbean diaspora looks like through my family’s eyes. Hope you guys enjoy the peak into our world offered on @bassa_______bassa
