Hi, I’m Elizabeth! The artist behind Parchment Studio.

Parchment Studio began as a summer passion project while I was off from teaching and quickly became a way to combine my love for our rich Louisiana culture and art!

You’ll find my miniature art prints inside push-quarter vending machines across local shops in Baton Rouge and New Orleans (currently at @lighthousecoffeebr and @courtoftwosisters). I also create custom artwork, stickers, and temporary tattoos for my machines that provide a unique, nostalgic experience for weddings and special events.

Red beans aren’t just a meal in Louisiana, they’re a tradition. Camellia Brand has been at the heart of Louisiana kitchens for over 100 years, first sold by the Hayward family in New Orleans’ French Market in the 1920s, and trademarked with the camellia flower name in 1947.

Their beans were so loved that by the 1980s they made up almost all the packaged dry beans in New Orleans, woven into the weekly traditions that define our community. This print is my tribute to those home cooked meals and a comfort food that was always on the stove as a kid. If you’re a louisiana native, you’ll recognize Spicy Cajun Crawtators anywhere. Zapp’s was founded in 1985 in Gramercy, Louisiana and inspired by Cajun cooking and local spice blends. What started as a small, regional chip company became an integral part of the state’s food culture.

Weekends in my family meant a quick trip up the road for an American Market cajun turkey po-boy and a bag of Zapp’s on the side (usually opened before we even got home), which is what inspired my “Crawtators” print.
