I don’t have much album art on my personal resumé but Pains has provided me an avenue to hone some skills in that particular format. For the initiated, I took a great deal of inspiration from the late, great Justin Bartlett’s work on Trap Them’s 2012 release “Darker Handcraft” a band and album that has influenced Pains even long before our inception.

The 3 middle panels represent each song on this EP, individually. I am always looking to represent patterns, themes and motifs in art and in this case, all of the EP artwork, as well as most of the accompanying merch. The blast of light that features prominently is the manifestation of “blistering wrath” which is a theme prevalent throughout the EP. What it all means on a deeper level I’ll let the listener interpret or there’s an interview somewhere out there where I explain a bit more.

Also yes I wrote out all the words/lyrics because I really wanted the EP to have that look but also I would highly suggest never doing that and just creating your own font instead. Oops lol.
