Looking for a late-night feed near Sydney Uni? Paddy Chan’s is the spot for Irish-style Chinese food, and it is absolute chaos (in a good way) on a Friday night!

If you’ve never had Irish-Chinese, think Australian-Chinese classics but with a twist. No Mongolian lamb here instead, you get those famous Munch Boxes and plenty of different sauce. 🍛🍟

The Munch Box ($74):
This thing is massive! Easily feeds 4–5 people. It’s packed with chips, fried rice, crispy chicken, chicken balls, BBQ ribs, and spring rolls. It is a carb-lover's dream, though definitely on the salty side!

You can grab a noodle dish for as low as $11.3. The Special Chow Mein (Chicken, Prawn & Pork) is $20.90 and the Prawn Toast ($11) was a classic starter.
 popular with local students and the late-night crowd. It’s got that "Westernised Chinese" flavour profile.

Know Before You Go:
Closed Monday to Wednesday. No lunch service, dinner only (usually until 9-10pm).
If you want a bit of everything, get the Munch Box and add the Salt & Chilli option (+$3).

I absolutely loved @paddy.chans when I first visited, so when they asked me back to try more of the menu, I couldn’t say yes fast enough!

I always wanted to grab the Munch Box because it looks SO GOOD!I opted for the “mini”, but this thing is still large enough to feed 4 easily 😂The salt and pepper chicken and the chicken balls were my favourite - dip them in any of their sauces and you’re gonna have a good time!The chicken and cheese spring rolls were also a close second, definitely grab them if you visit!

They told me the Wrapos are new so I had to try them - chicken curry and rice in spring roll form, what’s not to love?Deep fried carbs, how could it not be good!

Honestly everything here is exactly how it would taste from a Chinese Takeaway back home, I’ll be back again for sure!

Ever tried Irish Chinese fusion⁉️😍

Its the ultimate comfort food with delicious fried salty and spicy flavours! 🔥 You must try their famous mini much box which has a variety of delicious fried chicken, cheesy spring rolls, chips and fried rice! Defs made to share!
Their crispy chilli beef was also really good (reminds me of the rainbow beef in chinese restaurants) and the chow mien was delicious with big portions 🤤 The 3-in-1 was definitely unique with their famous curry sauce drizzled on chips on fried rice! The satay sauce was also pretty good! Definitely the ultimate cheat feast!

I’ve been craving a good British Chinese ever since I last got back from the UK, and it seems @paddy.chans was where I needed to go!

They’re an Irish Chinese Takeaway, but I’m about 99% sure it’s exactly the same as a British Chinese Takeaway - especially after trying a few items on the menu!

I decided to grab their Spice Box which is a mix of salt and pepper chicken stir-fried with chips, served with curry sauce - essentially their take on a HSP (which I’ve still never tried 😂) For me this was spot on for flavour to what I’d get at a Chinese back home, and I loved it!I just wish they had a store closer to me because I’d be here all the time!

Finally made it to @paddy.chans in Newtown. We tried the famous mini-munchbox with satay & curry sauce and the crispy chili beef — both seriously hit the spot.

This place is Irish-Chinese done right — simple, naughty, and so damn good.
