Eternally grateful my Grandma taught me to mend my clothes, it’s a simple skill that can have a huge impact

Helping us to slow down, reconnect to our clothes, keep them out of landfill, love on them a little longer and I find it incredibly soothing and cathartic too

Some of the best collaborations begin with someone who refuses to be defined by only one thing.

This is Sarah. A medical doctor and a consultant in First Nations health. The kind of career that, for most people, becomes the whole story. Hers feels much bigger than that.

Back in 2016, she won Fashions on the Field, but what interested me most was the way she approaches style. And this recent shoot showed nothing had changed here. The jacket she’s wearing here is preloved, brought back to life with hand-stitched sequin angel wings across the back. A piece with history, reworked by hand into something entirely its own by @fayedelanty @opshopulence

That feels very Sarah.

Thoughtful.
Creative.
Intentional.
Never surface level.

We spent the afternoon creating these images together and honestly, it felt like a return to the kind of fashion photography I’ve always loved most. The kind that is less about trends and more about the person inside them.

I left thinking about how rare it is to meet people who can carry multiple worlds so naturally, and how often that quiet depth is exactly what makes someone compelling to photograph.

I had them the first time around and I was obsessed.
So pouring myself into them again felt amazing and very nostalgic!
