La Galleria Sinopia presenta Effetto Venere, una mostra dedicata alla collezione di specchi artistici di OOM GLASS.

Un percorso immersivo dove lo specchio diventa soglia poetica tra antico e contemporaneo.
Superfici che riflettono, frammentano e trasformano lo spazio creando un dialogo continuo tra luce, architettura e percezione.

Il titolo richiama il celebre Effetto Venere, un fenomeno della psicologia della percezione presente nei dipinti di Velázquez, Tiziano e Veronese: lo spettatore osserva la dea intenta a guardarsi allo specchio, senza rendersi conto che, per le leggi dell'ottica, è la dea stessa a guardare lo spettatore.
Un inganno ottico che ribalta i ruoli e rende lo spettatore parte dell'opera.

Accompagnano la mostra le opere fotografiche di Nico Marziali e le sculture di Paola Crema, Antonio Grieco e Roberta Meldini.

Galleria Sinopia presents Effetto Venere, an exhibition dedicated to the collection of artistic mirrors by OOM Glass.

An immersive journey where the mirror becomes a poetic threshold between ancient and contemporary worlds.
Surfaces that reflect, fragment, and transform space, creating a continuous dialogue between light, architecture, and perception.

The title refers to the famous Venus Effect, a phenomenon in the psychology of perception found in the paintings of Velázquez, Tiziano andVeronese: the viewer observes the goddess looking at herself in the mirror, without realizing that, according to the laws of optics, it is actually the goddess who is looking at the viewer.
An optical illusion that reverses roles and turns the viewer into part of the artwork.

The exhibition is accompanied by photographic works by Nico Marziali and sculptures by Paola Crema, Antonio Grieco, and Roberta Meldini.

We are pleased to announce Suspended Matter, a new collaboration between artist Lidia Russkova–Hasaya and OOM Glass, curated by Benedetta Bianchi.

Bringing together contemporary artistic practice and Venetian glassmaking heritage, Suspended Matter unfolds through a series of suspended forms that investigate weight, fragility, atmosphere, and perception.

Lidia Russkova–Hasaya works across immersive installation, sculpture, and performance. At the core of her practice is what she describes as Emotional Architecture — the construction of environments that make feeling spatial. Rather than representing emotion, her works create the conditions for it: spaces experienced physically, atmospherically, and over time.

Established in Venice in 1987, OOM Glass is rooted in the Murano tradition of glassmaking, carrying Venetian craftsmanship into contemporary form through decades of material research and experimentation.

On view from May 8 through May 31, 2026 at Hotel Al Nuovo Teson, coinciding with the opening week of the 61st Venice Biennale.

Vertygo x OOM Contemporary Glass x Sara Ahli

We are pleased to welcome Sara Ahli to our May 2026 residency cohort in Mompantero, Susa Valley, Italy.

This residency is developed in collaboration with OOM Contemporary Glass, creating a framework for research and production across different material and spatial contexts.

Supported by the UAE Ministry of Culture (@uaemcy ) through the National Program for Culture and Creativity Grants (Fourth Cycle, 2025), Sara’s residency will unfold across Italy, engaging processes of experimentation and making between Mompantero and Venice.
Sara is an Emirati artist represented by @aishaalabbargallery

A constellation of thermoformed glass discs, each shaped through varying degrees of heat and movement. Subtle curves, deeper textures, and layered surfaces interact with light to reveal a shifting palette of tones - cool aquas, deep blues, warm ambers.

Available in multiple colours, sizes and decorative finishes, each element is entirely handmade and intentionally unique.

Designed as a living composition, each piece is mounted with a magnetic system, allowing it to be moved, rotated, or reconfigured at any time. Adjust the rhythm, rebalance the colours, expand or reduce the composition - making the wall an ever-evolving surface.

A fluid dialogue between material, light, and space.
