So, this is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time, but never bit the bullet on.

After seeing the quality of @ooey_custom’s work on a customer supplied frame, I knew it was time…

I supplied Stu with a basic concept and let him run from there. The end result is flawless. Perfect logos, perfect fade, 56g lighter than before, zero overspray! Everything finished to my ridiculously high standards.

With a nod to the bikes Project Black past, it fades from black raw carbon into the rhino print under the R-Works logo, so you know this is a 1 of 1! A play on the original “Project Black - Made in Racing” slogan that was on the NDS chainstay.

The bike is comfortably under 6kg with its climbing wheels, but this is the full fat version, all about speed 🚀

So, this is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time, but never bit the bullet on.

After seeing the quality of @ooey_custom’s work on a customer supplied frame, I knew it was time…

I supplied Stu with a basic concept and let him run from there. The end result is flawless. Perfect logos, perfect fade, 56g lighter than before, zero overspray! Everything finished to my ridiculously high standards.

With a nod to the bikes Project Black past, it fades from black raw carbon into the rhino print under the R-Works logo, so you know this is a 1 of 1! A play on the original “Project Black - Made in Racing” slogan that was on the NDS chainstay.

The bike is comfortably under 6kg with its climbing wheels, but this is the full fat version, all about speed 🚀

The first of two, potentially a once in a lifetime commission, to build up a pair of the highest spec SL8s money can buy…

Of course this wouldn’t have been possible without Stu at @ooey_custom who did just a ridiculous job on the paint, surpassing the clients expectations and my own.

With a blank chequebook, we went in HARD on the spec, amassing components that have evolved and been perfected by building over 50 SL8s, and having the knowledge as to what works, not just what’s expensive / states it’s amazing…

This customer had the frame painted at Ooey Custom @ooey_custom ; we made sure it was put back to the original fit dimensions, and we had already changed the cockpit previously- see the fantastic drag2zero .66 cockpit @drag2zero

From there here at @precise.performance we supplied and installed a brand new Shimano Duraace groupset and DT Swiss Arc 1100 disc wheel and DT Swiss Arc 1100 80mm front wheel.
