The recent passing of Bobby Caldwell reminded me of this unreleased video for “Secretly”, off my most recent solo album “Nobody Has To Know” which dropped in 2018.
Bobby Caldwell has always been someone I idolized and he influenced me a lot for this album, but not especially sonically speaking.
Only a few know that Bobby’s eponym first album has been released in Japan under the name of “Evening Scandal” which perfectly described the concept of my album, (secret lovers meeting at night). I almost snatched that name actually, but finally decided to settle for something of my own.
In this video you can briefly see me channeling my inner Bobby Caldwell, with the mysterious hidden vibes and the hat… R.I.P Bobby Caldwell 🕯 and thank you for the inspiration 🙏
