Back story
I had been engaged to host the #60Anniversary of Nigeria Distilleries Limited (makers of Seamans Schnaps, Bacchus Tonic Wine, St. Laurent etc) and arrived at the venue early, as usual.
Then I was told that one NDL Oga was asking if I could speak Yoruba. I answered in the affirmative.

However, I thought to myself, to make better connections with the audience/guests, (apart from speaking Yoruba sparingly) I should let them know that they (Ogun state people) are my in-laws too, as my wife @k_anets is from Ogun State. This I did once I got the mic and I was instantly considered "Son of the Soil"

I should also say, that I wasn't being fed the full names of the dignitaries present as early as they arrived.

Only for #Obasanjo, in his humourous manner, to use it as a material for his joke on me 😂🤣

I am from a town know as FUGAR - Estako Central LGA - in Edo state but I spent most ofall my life in Lagos, some part in Odogbolu, Ogun state and a tiny dot in Awka, Anambra state.
