It had been hard to pin down a single moment that encompassed how great last week was, but I think this is the sonic memory I’ve been floating in the most frequently.

The week was a whirlwind of meeting friends IRL for the first time since we all found each other via Discord, and finally getting to hang out and make music together in real time thanks to @ext.606 was just icing on the cake.

This particular moment keeps resonating with me tho. It kinda marked the start of this insane session, and made almost a hush fall on the room. Almost lol.I was definitely freaking out a bit beforehand because @hiatuskaiyote and @butcherbrown were literally right there, but that quickly faded into awe when this picked up. At the end of the day it was just a room full of old and new homies, and that was the best part, I feel.

It still feels like a dream, but that really happened.

This year, I learned how to see.

How to see the glimmers in life. The small moments, the little joys, the tiny things that catch my eye and fire off a cascade of thoughts and ideas in milliseconds.

How to see where my community exists, how it opens its arms wide for an embrace, and all the ways I avoided it for so long purely because of optics.

How to see the little patterns etched so deep within the grooves of my life that they’d stopped registering as patterns at all. Then how to identify where they started, and how to begin filling in and patching those segments that skipped like a broken record for so long.

This year, I learned how to see myself through a lens I’ve never used before. One unclouded by self-judgement, anxiety, projection, or assumption of perception. One which teaches me that the version of me I see in my head and the person I’m growing to be are more closely aligned than I thought. I learned how to see myself in sharper focus (the way I’d like to believe my friends can), flaws and all, and say “you know what, I can work with him”.

Happy new year, yawl. ❤️

**”Pass the Dutch” - now available!** This tape is a collective effort by 34 incredible artists, uniting to stand by Dutchyyy, a genuine OG of the beat community. Currently facing health and housing challenges, Dutch has been a guiding light for us all. Personally, he’s been a fantastic friend and has given me tricks and tools that I consistently use when approaching music.

The compilation, offering over an hour of powerful musical expression, is our sincere tribute to this exceptional individual. Every dollar generated goes directly to Dutchyyy, offering vital support in his time of need.

Join us in making a positive impact. Get your hands on the compilation, and if you’re inclined to provide extra support, find our GoFundMe link in the bio. A huge thank you to everyone involved; your contribution speaks volumes about Dutch’s impact on each of us.

Very happy to be included in this alongside homies and heavy hitters, all to support @peacepeacegawd ❤️

Big shouts to @lockheartles and @matt.e.j for spearheading and coordinating this effort.

“Do Not Fail” (Lincoln bayou). I made this a year ago today and was on the fence about posting it, but I like it too much to keep hoarding it. **to be clear I did NOT make the animation!!**

October had taken on a very specific feeling for me the last few years because of Dracula, and specifically being in Cherokee to do it. Since we’re not in the mountains this time, this track is how I can revive that particular tone, at least for myself. The cast and crew were on my mind while I made it, so this one is for all of them, and that place. ❤️

Returning to beats for a bit! Tryna get my feel for drums back rn, so I used one of @vooo.music ‘s rhodes loops as the foundationnn.

Also shoutout @butter_mellow for catching me slippin during the personal pan pizza lmao

Haven’t made much music this year, but this video popped up of me figuring out an idea in 2017 and I thought it’d be cool to show what it ended up becoming in 2020.Lol y’all heard it before, but it’s fun to see the raw idea next to the polished thing.

Oh happy #pridemonth btw ✌🏽❤️
