The NextGen Company joins The Lab under the guidance of our Resident Mentor, Michele Byrd-McPhee @theeladybyrd - a 2023 Bessie Award winner, street dancer, and arts activist known for her work decolonizing hip-hop culture across gender, sex, and racial lines. Michele is the Executive Director of Ladies of Hip-Hop, Artistic Director of LDC, and Associate Professor at UMass Amherst, and we are thrilled to have her leading this season’s company.

// THE CHOREOGRAPHERS //
Mack @off.icialmack
“Mack” Alston is an 18-year-old dancer and choreographer who has been dancing for about 11 years, training in tap, ballet, jazz, and mostly hip-hop. He has been part of two high-level competition and training teams — Brickhouse NYC (Gen XS, Gen Nex, Gen X) and Broadway Dance Center AIM. Passionate about storytelling through movement, Mack is excited to return to DLNY NextGen this fall to continue creating, growing, and sharing his love for dance.
Skye Estevez @skyeemmanuelle
Skye Estevez is a 17-year-old dancer and aspiring choreographer from New Jersey. A senior dance major at High Tech High School, she is a former NBA Knicks City Kid and now serves as a social media intern for the team.
