of Montreal’s 20th (!!!) studio album, aethermead, is out today. Recorded with a live band in Kevin Barnes’ new home base of NYC, it’s something of a breakup record, but mostly it’s a story of personal rebirth.

You can practically hear the crackle of energy on the recordings themselves. aethermead finds Barnes in an exciting new space, while also delivering on their ability to generate an absolutely classic groove. 💅💃
