Noga Cohen returns to the 2026 Arts Center Residency as an On-Site Assistant.

As a resident in 2025, she explored the use of bio-plastics, eventually developing Safety Net, which is on view at the @bronxmuseum AIM Biennial until June 29, 2026.

Swipe to learn how Cohen weaves meaning into her work through disruption and repair.

Hot on the heels of the joyful opening celebration for ‘The Seventh AIM: Biennial: Forms of Connection,’ we are delighted to share some details of a major exhibition program coming up on Saturday, February 7: The 2026 AIM Convening, a professional development and community building event for artists 🤩

The Convening is organized and facilitated by the 14 artists who completed @bronxmuseum’s prestigious AIM Fellowship last year, and who currently have work on view in ‘The Seventh AIM Biennial!’

The full schedule and RSVP for the multi-part event are linked in @bronxmuseum’s bio 🔗 Some aspects of the program require registration by next Sunday, February 1.

Specifically, 2025 AIM Fellows @nogie_, @sangminl, @piero.penizzotto, and @v.w.yeh are offering fifteen minute one-on-one Artist Career Advising appointments from 1-3 PM during the Convening. Sign up now or join the waitlist via the link in @bronxmuseum’s bio 👀

Aaaaaaand you can submit artwork to the Virtual Art Share that is displayed in the Museum during the Convening via the link in our bio by Feb 1 📩

Artist Spotlight! 🕸️

RAR invited emerging multidisciplinary artist and educator Noga Cohen to share about career programs that have supported her work thus far.

On her own volition, Noga reflected on the impact of residencies and fellowships from @lmcc_nyc @nyfacurrent @bronxmuseum on her career readiness and network of support in New York City.

Swipe to read about these programs in Noga’s words 👣

Lots of insight for #nycartists looking to tap into emerging networks and #immigrantartists seeking mentorship.

Thanks for sharing @nogie_

My recent site specific installation at @artifice.nyc Whitebox, called What If To Survive Is To Become Something Else, was a reflection on processes transformation. It’s made out of biodegradable plastic casted onto 6-pack can holders - each piece is a testament of how organic and synthetic materials shape and twist one another symbiotically.
This project, curated by @caitlintherien , was shown at @zerospace Brooklyn.

@lmcc_nyc Open Studios is coming up! This Saturday, 9/27, 12:00-5:00 pm, I will be there among a cohort of 18 incredible artists.
In the past 7 months, I played, experimented, had long coffee breaks by the river, and many laughs with my fellow artists in residency. I am excited to show you what I’ve made and talk about art!

WHITEBOX ACT I: ARTIFACT 4/6
THE ANCESTRAL

What If To Survive Is To Become Something Else by Noga Cohen
Reminiscing on the ways invisible forces shape - and are shaped by one another, What If To Survive Is To Become Something Else contemplates the blurred boundary between the anthropomorphic, the human, and synthetic objects. This floor installation incorporates biodegradable plastic casted onto disposable six-pack can holders, transforming familiar symbols of waste and consumption into spinal, animalistic objects.

WHITEBOX: The Garden (ACT I) 4-7pm

Presenting material artifacts grounded in bioculture and biophilia, exploring how we cultivate, disrupt, and relate to the living world.

——

Presenting ARTIFACT 4/6

ARTIFACTS are pieces made with a skill and/or to represent a concept. We position these as not isolated objects, but relational presences. Each exists in conversation: with its viewer, its setting, and how its encountered.

ARTIFICE is a hybrid concept studio based on science-fiction, where art + technology converge to shape + link artifacts through strategy + vision.

Lately, I’ve been developing a new body of work that combines mass-produced found objects with biodegradable plastic. This synthesis of materials has opened up so many unexpected discoveries, revealing how organic and synthetic elements shape, and are shaped by one another. Fascinated by the twisted, spine-like forms that emerged through these experiments, I began laying the groundwork for a larger project.
I’m now excited to present a site-specific installation at @zerospace as part of @artifice.nyc 005, opening on Saturday, September 20th. For more details and RSVP go to the link in my bio!
