Total Accord Fest is back June 3rd through 20th across San Francisco, with artists like Brijean and The Seshen plus a stacked local lineup. We’re breaking down all 13 shows and why they matter.
On Thursday, June 11th, festival headliner Brijean tops the bill at Rickshaw Stop with Mild Universe, plus DJ sets from DJ n0be. It’s one of those lineups that feels dialed in from top to bottom.
Brijean is the duo of Brijean Murphy and Doug Stuart, built from deep musical lineage and Oakland-rooted scene experience. Murphy’s percussion work has powered artists like Mitski, Toro y Moi, and Poolside, while Stuart comes from jazz and pop backgrounds that feed into his warm, harmonic production style. Together they shape psych-pop that drifts between dancefloor pulse and inward reflection, where rhythm and voice blur into something fluid and emotional. What started as home studio experiments grew into a sound that moves between disco shimmer, house groove, and dreamlike pop storytelling.
Mild Universe brings a different kind of glow. A San Francisco six-piece blending 90s house, disco, soul, and post-punk energy into live arrangements built for motion. Led by Sam Jones, they fold indie-psych songwriting into lush synths, horns, and jazz-leaning improvisation, creating songs that feel both nostalgic and forward-facing, like a dance floor remembering itself in real time.
With DJ n0be tying it together between sets, this night sits right at the intersection of live band energy and late-night club pulse. It’s not just a bill, it’s a whole ecosystem in motion.
