TAPU is a short film honouring Pacific hair stories and traditions. Our hair is not just hair, it is memory, lineage, resistance, beauty, and mana. It carries the touch of our ancestors and the weight of our becoming.
TAPU (meaning sacred) only scratches the surface of the deep spiritual, cultural, and political significance of hair across our many Pacific nations. From birth to ceremony, from grief to celebration, our hair marks life’s most important thresholds. It is cut, grown, adorned, protected. Never without meaning. This film is an offering. A visual prayer. A reminder that what grows from us is deeply connected to where we come from.

Here’s a teaser of HEROINA by the great @sevdaliza performed by the mighty @asongforyouberlin I got to create a few vocal arrangements for Sevdaliza and I’m so happy with how this one turned out!!

This track started as a few whatsapp voice notes between me and Sevdaliza, and turned into something powerful. Composed it together, then I crafted and arranged the final piece. The older I get, the more it means to be. The communities I am part of are breathing things that require love, care, and nurture. It’s bigger than you, and it puts the responsibility on everyone playing a part. You get out of it what you decide to put in. It has this non-hierarchy to it, but you respect the roles.
I now try to teach this to a certain extent, too, to honour those traditions. It has allowed me to be the person that I am today."

- 1. Go to the Instagram Story Downloader tool.
- 2. Next, type the username of the Instagram profile into the provided field and click on the Download button.
- 3. You'll then see all the Stories that are available for the current 24-hour period. Select the ones you want and hit Download.
