“Souvenir” was created within the framework of the Klima Biennale Wien, a project promoted by KunstHausWien, and curated by Calle Libre. Included in the “(No) Funny Games” program, the work is part of a broader reflection that uses apparent lightness and visual appeal as a device to critically address the social and environmental implications of the climate crisis.
The artwork brings together layered narratives into a single tension, where the natural environment appears transformed and distant, no longer experienced as a shared system but as a controlled, almost simulated construct. This reflects a perception of nature emptied of empathy, in which the relationship between humans and ecosystems is reduced to a utilitarian vision.
An apparent lightness emerges through the gesture of play, which simplifies complexity and avoids consequences. In this sense, play becomes a metaphor for a superficial approach to deep and irreversible processes, contributing to a loss of awareness.
The presence of industrial materials such as plastic directly links human production to environmental transformation, presenting climate change as the outcome of altered relationships rather than an external event.
“Souvenir” functions as an image-synthesis, condensing memory, perception and responsibility into a simplified fragment, reflecting on the risk that urgent realities may be reduced to distant representations.

“Convergence” reflects on the meeting of forces that shape our shared environment — flows, tensions, and balances that exist between the human and the non-human, the visible and the concealed. Two suspended forms become thresholds, fragments of a landscape both natural and constructed, where presence and absence continually redefine each other. Within this suspended space, the subject becomes an emblem of coexistence and vulnerability, held between protection and exposure. The work invites a reflection on interdependence, on the subtle ties that bind ecosystems together, and on the role humanity plays in maintaining — or altering — this fragile, collective balance.

“Echo”

Our latest mural intervention, just realized in Lugano (Switzerland), curated by @arteurbanalugano in the context of @longlakelugano.

Conceived in direct relation to the existing architecture and its urban and natural context, the artwork unfolds as an horizontal narrative in which the characteristic physical elements of the facade, visual components, and symbolic elements engage in dialogue, playing with light, rhythm, and the relationship between the real and the represented.
By harnessing the light coming from inside the windows, the artwork lights up and fades according to the time of day, with twelve subjects setting its dynamics in an effort to evoke the coexistence of different ecosystems, cohabitation, the relationship between the local and the global, an unified vision of nature and of balance in which everyone plays an active role;but also a detached, non-empathic perception, shaped by an anthropocentric perspective in an era heavily defined by visual digital communication.
In the rhythmic sequence of the bears and their corresponding screens, each tied to a different aquatic environment, a symbolic flow emerges, a river that runs parallel to the real one.

An immense glass whale rises in precarious balance, resting on its snout, a fragile guardian of an environment, both its own and ours.
Its transparency reveals, protects and reflects a reality in constant tension between support and collapse, intention and action, harmony and consumption, near and far, past and future, where everything is defined by both personal and collective responsibility.
The artwork reflects on the concept of sustainability as a goal yet to be achieved, on the idea of cause and effect, on the relationship between the local and the global, and more broadly on a vision of shared participation that stems not only from planning, but first and foremost from awareness of the role each of us plays within the environment we are part of.
Planning, however, precisely as a form of responsibility, becomes essential to suggest a path forward, to foster an improved relationship with the planet, one that shifts from exploitation to balance, supported by the development of technologies aimed at restoring harmony in this relationship.

A final period of freedom for the whales of our mural “Close up” before their disappearance.
“Close up” was created in Lugano, Switzerland, in 2020 for @arteurbanalugano.
In recent months, the building that previously partially covered the wall, making it visible in its entirety only from specific positions, has been demolished and a larger one will soon be built in its place, which will permanently cover the work.
