Last days to apply for our Designers in Residence program in collaboration with @nerdlab9000 ‼️
We are looking for 3 designers/makers/artists for an intensive residency from 7 September to 5 December 2026. You will develop an experimental project situated at the intersection of design, technology, and society, with a public presentation during @wonder_festival and @mutation.be 2026.
We are looking for designers who use technology as a critical and cultural starting point. The residency aligns with the theme of Mutation Festival “Why Tech”: we critically examine how technology adds value and focus on topics such as human–machine interaction, digital identity, speculative futures, and the digital layer of public space.
The residency aims to foster new hybrid design and tech projects with social relevance.
The deadline for applications is Friday, 22 May 2026.

🎺🌿 This Thursday marks the final workshop of the first chapter of Secrets of the Garden. In this session, we will explore the creation of horn speakers and discover how form can amplify sound in unique and organic ways. Inspired by the fascinating behavior of the mole cricket (which digs horn-shaped tunnels to naturally amplify its call) we will explore new ways of amplifications.

We klussen er op los! 🧹🛠️✨
Op 22 mei organiseren we — bijna exact 1 jaar na het bouwlab dat volgde op de verhuis naar Lousberg — een klusjesdag. Het wordt hoog tijd om wat bij te klussen en het lab wat extra liefde te geven. We nemen de social space, makerspace, keuken en opslagruimtes onder handen. Als jullie zelf suggesties hebben voor zaken die je graag wil fixen kan je het hieronder in de forms invullen.

On May 22nd, we’re organizing a fix-up day — almost exactly 1 year after the bouwlab that followed the move to Lousberg. It’s about time to tackle some long overdue jobs and give the lab some extra love that it deserves. We’ll be working on the social space, makerspace, kitchen, and storage areas. If you have any suggestions for things that need to get done, feel free to leave them below.
