And finally, meet our wonderful cellist, Joe!

Joe is a freelance cellist and actor from Wales. Originally studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama as an ABRSM scholar they went on to study both cello and musical theatre at the Royal Academy of Music.

They have been fortunate to work with orchestras such as BBC Concert Orchestra and Welsh National Opera. They currently enjoy a freelance career ranging from chamber music, education work and playing on shows having recently played on the English language premiere of Rebecca the Musical. They are extremely grateful to Caroline Scherf for the loan of her wonderful 1826 Francois Breton cello.

On first violin, we have the wonderful Kath!

Kath is a versatile violinist based in London. She was recently the onstage violinist for ‘Duet for One’ at the Orange Tree Theatre. She was also the violin chair holder on the My Fair Lady UK tour 2022-23 and the Titanic China tour 2023. Kath has played on BBC radio 3’s ‘in tune’, and was awarded the Sir John Barbirolli prize (Royal Academy of Music), Peter Evans prize (University of Southampton), and 1st prize in the John Ireland competition.

She freelances with the London Mozart Players, CHROMA ensemble, Lontano, the London Musical Theatre Orchestra, Paraorchestra, Bath Festival Orchestra, Orchestra for the Earth, and Orchestra Nova, as well as playing for West End and touring shows.

When not playing the violin, Kath loves running and climbing, and can be usually be found wearing embarrassing amounts of yellow.

South African-born Claudia Dehnke is a recent graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, where she obtained an MA with distinction.

Claudia has performed as a soloist in with the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra and Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.She was the recipient of the Leverhulme Trust Scholarship and Abe Bailey Scholarships, and is a Harrison Frank Family Foundation Artist.

Claudia enjoys working in chamber music groups across many genres, performing with the London Mozart Players, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group NEXT, I Musicanti and the Ubuntu Ensemble, led by Leon Bosch. She has also recorded a number London premieres of new works for BBC Radio 3.

Claudia enjoys yoga, theatre, baking, and sad indie music.

Meet our violist, Edward! 🎻

Edward Keenan was born in Scotland, and played violin for over a decade before starting the viola at sixteen. He studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with Distinction.

Edward is a busy chamber musician, playing with the Brompton Quartet and the Broen Ensemble. Edward also enjoys a busy freelance orchestral career across the UK. He plays with a variety of orchestras, including London Mozart Players, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble and the RSNO.

In his spare time Edward enjoys running, squash, and good books! 📚🏃‍♂️

Our playing has been so influenced by the fun, laughter and love we share as a group of friends.
