This is 'Workaholics Wanonymous', our submission to the Cardiff Quick Draw, a 48-hour animation event! we really did our thing on this one, and despite the tightness of the deadline, we were able to get everything done with a super fun, easygoing nature. @rob_scales_ and @nocoisloco really killed it with the voice acting, and the animation turned out so so nice! this was an incredible pleasure to be a part of, and i hope we get to make more things together in the future!!

Check out this precious stop motion animation of our lil Hillfolk toad 🥹 created by Nate Dreschel (@nateanimates_ ), a Philadelphia based multidisciplinary artist creating handcrafted animation for brands and original storytelling ✨

Nate reached out to me here on Insta and asked if it would be cool to share his art that was inspired by one of our top selling craft kits @walmart ⚡️💙✨

We connected on a zoom call where we talked about his creative practice and how he came across Mr. Toad. Nate had been at Walmart getting supplies for another project, came across our kits, loved the toad, and brought it home to try, and had so much fun creating it, he was inspired to do this animation for us 🥹

It was so great to share our work and mutual love of whimsy and the magic of creating these characters. I love seeing how each kit creation is unique with its own personality 🥰🥹⚡️

How to make this ⬇️ @fireballprints strata-cut bumper!

Step 1: Get the right materials. I used plasticine clay so that it wouldn’t air dry and found the perfect cutting tool from dollar tree to slice it.
.
Step 2: Build the clay F. I rolled tubes for the eyes and sliced them diagonally to make them blink. Thank you @taymations for the tip! Then I carefully built the blue F around that.
.
Step 3: Stick a bunch of multicolored clay squares together and slice them in checkboard pattern squares. Then flip each of those squares, one after another and stick them back together.
.
Step 4: Make those into a two long tubes shaped as the letters F and V. Coat both of these in orange clay.
.
Step 5: Prepare camera and shoot it using Dragonframe. After taking each frame(photo), slicing a layer of clay off and moving the piece forward a bit.
.
Step 6: Edit out the background in After effects. Adding a glow, slight wiggle effect and a galaxy for the background.
.
Step 7: Sit back and enjoy the shot!
