“Deep In Their Eyes” is one of six tracks from my upcoming EP "Der Kern" (out June 12 on Bandcamp). The track dives into the fears, and especially the hopes, of soldiers on the front line, people who are forced to do things no human being ever should, while constantly facing serious injury or even death themselves.
Wars and armed conflicts weigh heavily on me, because in the end, no cause can ever justify the loss of human life.

Recording analog stuff to tape before to DAW. Makes so much fun and sounds full of live. That's how I build my own sample library.

The release date is set and the first promos went out today: my 6 track electro EP “Der Kern” (“The Core”) drops on June 12 on my Bandcamp page! 🤪

Especially the tracks “Elektroide Leidenschaft” (“Electroid Passion”) and “Tief in meiner Seele” (“Deep in My Soul”) turned out really personal and go deep into my soul. That’s also where the whole idea of the title “The Core” comes from.

When I made these tracks, I was really craving raw analog sound, noise, imperfections and something real. Most of the tracks started out as jam sessions with all the machines running while I just hit record and let everything out that needed to come out. The whole thing felt super freeing and was honestly so much fun!

Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting a few teasers here and there and I’d really appreciate any kind of support (likes, shares etc.) from you!

It’s not about the money for me. That’s why I’ll be donating all Bandcamp income from this release to the German Children’s Cancer Foundation.

I could release the EP for free, but that doesn’t feel right to me. Music has value, and it shouldn’t usually be something you just get for free. Even if there are only a few sales, it will hopefully help support cancer research and children battling cancer a tiny bit. So it’s two good things at once: making music and contributing something positive at the same time. 😊

'It's difficult to choose one particular work of art, as there are so many incredible pieces. I chose an illustration by the famous Gustave Doré. I grew up with his illustrations of fairy tales, and he was often used for metal album covers, a style that I also love. And I must say that this illustration for Little Red Riding Hood also resonates strongly with current events!'

🤖The German electro artist ‘Nasty Boxes’ has been crafting electronic music for more than 25
years. He loves to push his analog and digital machines to the edge – his beloved “nasty boxes.”
Once they’re charged with electricity, they come alive like Frankenstein’s monster, forming the core
of his distinctive sound. Musically, ‘Nasty Boxes’ draws inspiration from electro, rave, and
hardcore techno – but also from non-techno styles like hip-hop and funk. While his sound is deeply
rooted in electro, he’s never aiming to fit perfectly into its conventional patterns. In the studio, he
lets ideas evolve freely, following intuition rather than rules to create something fresh and personal.
For ‘Nasty Boxes’, making music is a vital way to express deep emotions. As long as blood runs

'I find 17th-century vanitas still lifes fascinating because they use symbolic objects such as skulls, clocks, or extinguished candles to represent the transience of life. They show that wealth, pleasure, knowledge, and beauty are only temporary. They remind the viewer that everything earthly passes away and that one should therefore not cling too strongly to worldly things.
A good example here is the work Still Life with a Skull and a Writing Quill (1628) by the Dutch artist Pieter Claesz'

Just finished the composition work of the second out of three tracks for my upcoming demo. “That Machine” explores the fast rise of AI, just like the other two tracks. Here’s a short un-mixed preview. What do you think?

For the main beats I used my tiniest drummachine, the MFB 522 trough a Sherman Filterbank. The 522 is small, but it has a huge sound! I love it!
