At @harvardeducation last week, Sarah and I hosted a party for our recently released book, "Start with Questions: The Classroom as Design Studio" from @mitpress. We were so grateful to gather with our family, friends, and colleagues to share a reading and discuss the ideas motivating the work, with @mresmres as our discussant.
One of the wonderful questions we received was from Emily Hess, Associate Director of HGSE's Teaching and Teacher Leadership Program @hgse_ttl. Emily asked what we had learned from the teachers in our study about how they managed the various challenges they faced in public education, so she might share those strategies with the teachers she supports.
Our advice was to start small. Across these 25 classrooms, we saw how one authentic question, asked with care and attention, can have an enormous impact. As Mitch so beautifully summed up, "Little ripples can turn into waves over time." š
