Dave Eckblad is a DJ, photographer, event promoter, stage manager, service tech and speaker designer from Minneapolis. With over 25 years of experience DJing underground music spanning multiple genres centered around experimental and forward-thinking music. He’s been part of many event series including 9th Circle, MODE, Overland Recordings, SYSTEM, Envelop and Intellephunk. Dave also runs mnVibe.com, once a raver bulletin board, now an events and artists blog.
It’s season two and our mission here is the same! We are here to create a space for artists to tell their story. The BASSment has been a place for so many artists to feel free to play music they may not normally get to play out. During the interview segment the guest artist will get to talk about where they have come from, things they are working on and where they would like to see themselves going in the future. There will also be a Q & A segment led by questions submitted by listeners and followers of the channel.
To participate in the Q & A, just send your questions to the @bassment_jams DMs and we will try to answer everything within the time allotted.

I chose this image of Dave for a reason.
It’s a posture I’ve seen over and over through my viewfinder... Dave slightly off to the side, watching. Not hovering. Not spotlighted. Just present. Overseeing a friend behind the decks. Making sure the sound holds.
Minneapolis is a sound city. We are spoiled. Truly. The systems here are not accidental. The clarity, the weight, the way the low end lands in your ribs... that’s craft. That’s intention.
Dave is part of that spine.
I’ve come to know him in many forms: friend, advocate, steward, audio technician, photographer, DJ, animal lover. But at his core, he is an architect of vibration. An artittech of sound. He doesn’t just play on systems... he builds them. Tunes them. Carries them. Listens to them breathe.
You’ll experience one of those systems at the opening.
There’s something quietly powerful about him. He can be one of the softest presences in the room... almost disappearing into the background. But when it comes to sound, you know exactly when he’s there. The room feels different. Safer. Calibrated.
What moves me most is this... Dave protects the frequency so others can create inside it.
That’s not glamorous work. It’s not front-of-flyer work. It’s stewardship.
And in a community like ours, stewardship is sacred.
