Riding out an enormous polar low in Skjervoy, there’s time to cull though some of the highlights of our week, thus far;-) Reported 45’ seas are keeping our team and sailboat in the harbor until this evening— really a bit of welcome rest for our days ahead.
Such a special place to explore, the Lyngen and the surrounding wilds.

Not all is as it appears. Attractive as the climb is, Ryan and I found more sun than was welcome for this ascent of Diagonal. A totally spectacular position high on the Mordor wall, but I’ll for sure be climbing this on more overcast days or colder conditions, in the future.

Climbing the second pitch of Diagonal in the ☀️ on mostly dry rock is really nice… but it’s kind of a red flag for ice quality on the 3rd pitch pillar. Don’t ask me how I know.

Making an early season Dropline ascent with @b.grant.simmons is becoming a tradition. Great company and mild temps contributed to the fun this afternoon— 12/17/25.

For those who are interested, P1 was climbed on rock gear, dry / scrappy. P2 was runout to start, but quickly improved and protected well after the first 25’…
