I recently reunited with my brother @ryliczander to shoot him and his @ohshifttv team working their magic with the 355 by @evoluto_automobili.

Rylic and I have a long history, but this isn’t the time to tell old stories. Naaah, this is about the present.

Present day @ohshifttv is on fire. Seeing the audience grow is a true testament to dreaming big, executing consistently, and leaving the results to God.

Several years ago when I met Rylic at Newcombs, I never quite imagined we would be here now. But I have the feeling he did - living at the edge of his comfortable zone, turning his fast car fantasies into reality.

I’ve known Nick Tolosa for roughly 6-7 years. We met at a mountain rest stop called Newcombs Ranch. Some of you may have heard of it. Back then, we vibed on our mutual addiction of analog machines.

Over the years, I’ve watched Nick create a new brand based on his ethnic and geographic roots. Let’s be honest, there’s a million “car clubs” out here but very few that actually hold real substance beyond their fancy logos and weekly pop ups. Nick’s MAKINA hits different. It’s a celebration of creativity, culture, and Northeast Los Angeles. Wearing a MAKINA hat or applying a sticker to your car says something. Sure, it means you probably love cars but it also means that you support small local businesses. It means you think honoring the past while building the future is important.

What a lot of people don’t know is that Nick is also a nurse. Dude has built a whole career on service to the community. He’s also a Husband and a Father. To be honest, it’s quite amazing to see how Nick finds the time to do so much…to be so much.

Byron and I recently pulled up to support one of MAKINA’s midweek events. No agenda, no clout chasing, no stunting in our cars. We just showed up be in the same space as our brother Nick and his NELA vibe. The food at the Oinkster was phenomenal. The crowd that Nick draws is even better.
