growing up training in chicago, the holidays were always special..heroes coming home, holiday fundraiser workshops, end of the year projects n sessions with tough ass choreo to showcase how lowkey locked in everyone was lol..

you’d have your crew.. class regulars… even the ones you only see a few times a year…showing up just to be in the room together. it was always so heartwarming and those spaces felt so intentional.

Honestly manifesting more of these roles mannnn. It was easy to stay present and take in everything this project had to offer. From a front row seat to conversations between Donald & Hiro, witnessing Shay create and translate the funk, finally sharing the stage with Rob, and just meetin so many cool/passionate people on set - this one really shifted my mentality around “being in the room”!

My dance journey started in musical theater (anything goes, hairspray, grease, etc.) so my soul was absolutely on fire during this whole process lol. I mean they had mfs acting n singing on the spot with a middle part?! I’ll always have love for theatrics. 🎭

realizing class is such a great way to reveal some of the tools that go unused for a while and i think it’s so cool that certain teachers, styles, & songs have the ability to bring those hidden elements out of us. it’s really magic.
