Monkhammer
Monkhammer is a musical group that came about through a church reading group focusing on William Blake’s “ The Marriage of Heaven & Hell”.
Fronting on vocals is Briana Wiener. Beside and behind her (on stage) sits Erik Proft (Kama Rupa), David Nuss (No Neck Blues Band, Sabbath Assembly) & Frank Haines (Sandy Smiles, Nastie Band).
The name Monkhammer is a reference to the percussion instruments, used in monasteries, to summon one to prayer or at the start of a procession.
Marcia Bassett & Chuck Bettis
Marcia Bassett (buchla easel) is a
NYC-based musician and artist known for her innovative and unconventional approach to music. Her work explores areas of sound collage, improvisation, and immersive audio-visual environments. Whether working with traditional instruments or electronic media, Bassett constantly pushes the boundaries of sound and image to create a heady sonic interplay of otherworldly narratives that are equal parts trance and critique.
