New years and chillin…

Train Dreams is the best film of 2025 so far…to me. Haunting and beautiful. Maya @gunghoeco and I were so moved and entranced. A truly subtle and gorgeous @joeledgerton. He, director/co-writer @clintbentley and his cinematographer @adolphoveloso deserve nominations. Oh, and Bill Macy. A simple story of a sensitive man’s life in a world advancing for better or for worse, with such consciousness of the environment. Just gorgeousness. You know, bein ’ The Boss ain’t easy… all the intel and the planning. Jaysus, Mary and Joseph!! This feels like my first chance to come up for air and do a little posting of my own for our show… we only have eight more heists to pull here in Tucson, then we move to Tempe in the new year. Hopefully some of you California cats can catch us there, unless you’re in Tucson this week…so very grateful to be working with this amazing cast and creative team on the American premiere of this play in Arizona. Oh my god… a genius. A light. So grateful that I got to be in his play, The Invention of Love, on Broadway back in 2001, and then his playRock ‘n Roll at ACT Seattle in 2009. And his play Arcadia in grad school. He was so warm and generous and brilliant.  His plays always Titanically intellectual, and always love stories underneath. I think I had wrongly heard from someone that he was a difficult person before I met him in 2001. I still remember on opening night during the party how delighted I was that he knew my name, (“Hello, Matt!”)in my mid 20s, playing a small part and under studying, as he signed my poster.
