Dance, spiritual practice, kundalini, qigong, breathwork, talk therapy and somatic-emotional release are all ways that I have over time re-learned to love my body.
A reminder: this work is accumulative! It’s often the combination that helps break down the walls. The process may feel slow but the body is supposed to feel liberated and free 🌬️ enjoy the process of becoming.

In Kundalini yoga we have three minds and five energetic bodies in addition to our one physical body.
When I work with clients who are living with chronic conditions, I consider all of these bodies — because pathology has the ability to manifest in any of these layers. Often we focus so much on the physical body that we forget that disease can be a symptom of an imbalanced mind or emotions that are stored in the subtle body.
When we heal we have to address from all of these layers. As we practice awakening the ten bodies and weave breath and mantra into the patterning of our thoughts, the movements of our body and in witness of our heart — we create flow in our daily lives and avoid stagnation in the bodies. A consistent practice of tends to be mirrored with gifts from the universe and to me, that feels like magic ✨ the quote featured is by Kundalini grandfather Yogi Bhajan and basically sums it up 🤍🌬

People keep saying “you look like a natural mother” but here are some of the things I’ve researched in the last 3 weeks:
1.Is it normal for my newborn to go bald at 2 weeks old?
2. Make a spreadsheet of what’s considered normal newborn behavior vs definitely colic, don’t be vague.
3. Is it normal that my newborn seems personally offended by being awake?
4. When do newborns start growing their real hair?
5. Can turmeric lattes affect breastmilk and affect newborn poo?
6. How long do postpartum hemorrhoids last?
7. Why does it feel like my vagina is going to fall out if I stand too long?
8. Do cabbage leaves actually help raw nipples, and is there a superior cabbage variety for this experience?
9. Is it normal for the umbilical cord to grow a tiny tentacle before falling off? (Apparently yes, and you salt it.)
10. Will my newborn lose her eyebrows and eyelashes too?
Turns out *most* things ARE normal and the newborn phase is just one long exercise in loving someone so much that you end up panic-researching all the things that could be going wrong.
We’re halfway through our 40 day cocoon today! 🐛🦋

Cooking a whole trout sounds intimidating, but it’s actually so easy. 🌿 With just one pan, fresh herbs from the garden, and a little oil, you’ve got a meal that’s as nutritious as it is beautiful.

I wish I had known this word when I was first pregnant.
It was coined in the 1970s to describe and normalize the vast emotional, physical, and societal rite of passage that accompanies the transition into motherhood.
So for all the mamas out there today—this is for you. A phrase that finally acknowledges the immeasurable metamorphosis that brought your children into this world.
And on a personal note: this is for our daughter, Winona Oros, born 4/24/26, who has already brought so much love, joy, and expansion to our lives.
Matrescence is not a brief event, but a long-term—potentially lifelong—transition in which a woman’s identity, neurology, and physical body continually evolve as her child grows.
It’s BIG work 🌎🏔️💪
So this Mother’s Day, I want to honor all the mamas who came before me, and all those who will one day be.
This lineage is never-ending.

High-protein and endlessly customizable, poke bowls are the meal that never gets old. 🐟🍚
“Poke” (pronounced poh-kay) is a Hawaiian word meaning “to cut into chunks” — a name that speaks directly to the preparation of the fish itself.
This versatile dish works beautifully with several types of seafood, and is a perfect match for our salmon.
Here’s how to build yours:
🔪 Prep the fish — Remove the skin and slice into ½-inch cubes.
✨ Season with intention — A light mist of shoyu, a slow drizzle of sesame oil.
🎨 Assemble — Color, contrast, texture. There’s no wrong way to build your bowl.

Cut from her cord,
we drift in her open air.
Breath from her exhale,
blood from her blood -
and still,
we tread without lightness.
She answers in wind,
in light -
patient, omnipotent.
The tether -
unbroken.
Soil to sky.
Tide to marrow.
We drink her rivers
as if not veins,
name her body
as if ours.
Still - she gives.
Full bloom.
Salt and nectar.
Forgotten,
she hums—
ancient,
unoffended.
We return as breath,
blood to water,
body to soil.
Mother-eternal.
Mother-infinite.

The last month has felt like magic.
Each morning, Drew and I wake up and savor these final days of life as it is—on the edge of becoming something entirely new.

Pregnancy has changed the way I see my body forever.
If you’ve had a baby, was it like this for you too? Tell me below.
I’ve found that every superficial imperfection is now shadowed by the miraculous nature of its function.
And I know that birth will continue to crack this open a little further.
This is the first of a series shot by my dear friend, and a legendary photographer @hailleydotcom 🍓
A woman who I trust implicitly to capture all facets of myself—
and this part is my inner child, a playful girl, happiest in the mountains.

Can any of my fellow third-trimester mamas relate to craving high-protein fuel without the heaviness?
At 38 weeks, when everything feels a little more compressed, I find myself reaching for meals that are mineral-rich and easy to digest.
This poached steelhead in a miso-ginger broth is exactly that. Recipe below:
Ingredients
* 1 steelhead trout, sashimi loin (defrosted, room temperature)
* 2 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
* 1 Japanese sweet potato
* 6 cups filtered water
* 2 tbsp red miso
Toppings
* spring onion (thinly sliced on a diagonal)
* Jalapeño, thinly sliced
* avocado, sliced
* nori, cut into strips
* sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Prepare the base
Use the back of a spoon to peel the ginger, then finely chop. Peel the sweet potato and cut into small, even cubes (about 1 cm).
2. Build the broth
Bring the filtered water to a gentle boil. Add the ginger and sweet potato, and cook for about 8 minutes, until the potatoes are just tender.
3. Incorporate the miso
Ladle out 1 cup of the hot broth and whisk in the miso until fully dissolved. Reduce the heat on the pot to low (a gentle simmer), then stir the miso mixture back in. Avoid boiling after adding miso to preserve its beneficial fermentation properties.
4. Poach the steelhead
Add the steelhead to the pot and gently poach for 6–8 minutes, until the fish is just cooked through and easily flakes apart.
5. Prepare toppings
While the fish cooks, slice the scallions on a diagonal (using both white and green parts), cut the nori into thin strips, slice the jalapeño, and prepare the avocado.
6. Finish and serve
Turn off the heat and add the seaweed to the broth. Let it soften briefly, then ladle into bowls. Top with scallions, jalapeño, avocado, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Serve warm and enjoy slowly.
