G’day everyone, hope you’re all staying hydrated! We are stoked to let you know that we are coming to Sydney to play with @antiguitartrio and Lampdog and the Whyte Wizard Deliver The Goods at @lazythinking__ on June 14th! Doors will be at 2pm and tickets are available at the very 2013-esque price of 15 bucks. Yep, 5 bucks a band; nostalgia can hurt sometimes too.

We will be playing selections from all of our releases (potentially) and even a sneaky peek of what is upcoming (potentially-er) so come on down for a hang, hear some great bands and support a supportive grassroots venue.

Milton Man Gogh (MMG), a jazz trio that defies the mantle and force feeds it PCP laced No-Doz, was born in 2016 when Andrew Saragossi, Zac Sakrewski, and Benjamin Shannon came together for their weekly jam sessions in preparation for a one-off gig. Their fusion of contemporary jazz with elements of metal, punk, and folk has propelled them to the forefront of Australian jazz, earning them acclaim and award home and abroad. Their unique blend of music is complemented by their innovative use of media, weaving captivating narratives through music videos and comics, depicting the adventures of their fictional namesake. The band has released an array of records an toured extensively home and abroad since its inception.

Milton Man Gogh’s unique sound is an amalgamation of the core influences of each member – jazz and improvised music, contemporary classical, progressive rock and metal. Equally comfortable plundering sounds from Meshuggah and Donny McCaslin to Aphex Twin and Captain Beefheart, Milton Man Gogh seeks to explore personal inquiry through composition, ultimately being brought to life in the studio, through music videos and live performance where they showcase their raw and untamed intensity and energy. “As a collective, we’ve always believed that good Jazz is adventurous and challenges both listener and musician while still retaining that catchiness that keeps people wanting more” says saxophonist Andrew Saragossi. “We’ve eschewed the modern image of Jazz, as it has ironically become a bit of an institutionalised sport. We’re using what we learned from that sometimes rigid tradition and trying our best to breathe our own life into it – taking theoretically advanced concepts and mixing them with unconventional influences while still keeping our music relatable to everyone.”

It’s almost a week since we released fully stretched and we hope everyone out there is enjoying what they’ve heard so far! If you have a favourite track, tell us about it - you gain nothing but the satisfaction of acknowledgment, but sometimes that’s enough, you know. If that’s not enough, we have new merch and CD’s coming soon! If that’s still not enough, here’s a poorly framed photo of us at a gift shop (in hats).
We will be playing fully stretched in its entirety, plus a few choice Milton classics on our upcoming tour, which we are very excited for. If you want to catch us (and you do), We will be playing in Brisbane at @crowbarbris on December 4, onwards to Sydney for @mondaynightconfessions on December 8 and finally Melbourne at @baropenfitzroy on December 14. We have a bunch of special guests joining us on each night and we can’t wait to see all of you!

Our new album Fully Stretched is out tomorrow, and in a somewhat reflective fashion, we’ve been flicking through the archives and found this little gem we like to call: band nails ending, still gets heckled. Thanks for the support, @aaronchoulai . You know, a day or so later, Ben and Zac got swarmed by wasps. Andrew, disappointingly, didn’t get his camera out to capture the moment. Anyway, we can’t waitto share Fully Stretched with you!

Hello, hi and g’day,
Here is a sneaky video of us in the Banff Centre studios looking candid. What we lacked in lighting, we made up for in effort! Fully stretched is less than a month away from release and we are very excited for you to give it a spin. We also have our tour from December 4 to 14 - plenty of time to learn the melodies so you can sing along. We will be playing material from the new record, as well as some select classics from the ever-growing catalog. Maybe we should compile some charts? Regardless, we can’t wait to see you at a show soon!

G’day friends, The wait is over! We are super excited to announce that we are going on tour to support the release of our upcoming album “Fully Stretched”.
