I was filming a client’s project at the Lekki Arts and Crafts Market. Busy as always. Voices, movement, people trying to sell, people trying to leave. Then I saw him.

He sat there, almost hidden in plain sight, weaving rafia into a bag. He didn’t rush. His hands were so steady like they had done this a thousand times before.

I found myself just standing there, watching him. It was like the sight of him was drawing me in. There was a kind of quiet around, he was evidently lost in his own world.

He had obviously come from the north. That kind of distance often means you left something behind.

That got me wondering.

What did he leave?
Who did he leave?
Does he miss home when the day finally slows down?

Did he come chasing something, or did life push him here?
Is this craft something he loves, or just something he holds onto?
When he lies down at night, what fills his mind?

And the one I couldn’t shake:
What makes someone travel this far, just to keep doing the work their hands already know?

I left with those questions, but I needed answers so I went back.

This film has all the answers to my questions.

We shot this in the year 2024. It sat on my drive for two years. Now I’m ready to share it.

“617 Miles for Rafia” is the start of my “Miles Docu Series.” For this particular film, “617” because Google said it takes approximately 617 miles from Kano to Lagos.

Stories of people who leave home, and carry something with them that distance can’t take away. Also, the ultimate question: Was leaving home for art worth it?

Interesting fact about this? It was shot on only one camera.

Covering the 10-year anniversary of Faaji Agba was more than just a job, it was a reminder of why we do this.

As filmmakers, our purpose is to preserve history, carry forward stories, and make sure the landmarks that shaped our culture are never forgotten.
Watching the director, Remi Vaughan-Richards bring her vision to life behind the camera as a woman in film filled us with deep respect. Their passion helped people understand the music, the culture, and the people behind the film.

We felt honoured to cover the anniversary. Delivering clean, cinematic videos and the storytelling strong so the heart of Faaji Agba stayed present.

Some love stories feel like they were written in the stars. Filming Bosun and Ajoke's wedding couple of months back was one of those moments that didn’t feel like work, it felt like stepping into something beautiful and real.

Every glance and every touch reminded us that love is alive and powerful.

It was surreal to witness and even more surreal to capture. Here’s to a love that is so unashamed it speaks without words and shines without effort. ❤️ One of the toughest parts of this project was blending the traditional and white wedding into a single seamless highlight, instead of making two separate films. After several trials, brainstorming sessions, and even moments of stepping back when things got tough, we finally shaped it into one beautiful, cohesive story.
